From: "Bush, Tom" Subject: RE: Ford grave yard Date: Sunday, October 13, 2002 2:16 PM The county is Woodford County. The person who owned the land was to have been according to his son Tavner P. Dunlap Sr. His son Tavner Jr. said it was seen by him when he was a boy years ago and it was a bigger plot on his fathers land. However he said to me his father had two pieces of land. The Anderson county web site containing info on Woodford/Anderson County says it is on Scotts Ferry road once owned by Dunlap Sr. The book in Woodford County museum we saw said it was Zack Ford grave yard seen by a Bob Moore of Lexington about 20 some years ago. We could not find him either. The number of graves are to be at least 20 or more with my great-great grandfathers daughter being there along with the Ford family and friends from around the county who are buried there. Absalom Ford who was an overseer to Crittenden Plantation for a long time is buried there with other Fords also. It was written in museum that graves were there burying people in 1898 at the latest dates known. I do not know if the land we looked at was the right place that Mr. Hornback owned and let us go to see with permission. It was on Scotts Ferry road at fire gate 40 containing a white old block house. I do not know if this was the right place and the grave yard was messed up in recent years or not. Thank you for you help. I am a current member of the museum and appreciate you help..Thomas I. It was on the land that was onced owned by a Tavner P. Dunlap who sold it to realtor in Versailles. The realtor gave us an ok to go to the property and we found the land. A Bob Moore had a list of almost 20 people being buried in this lot. No lot, but a small one was there and no markings on it to see. Some of the stones were to be less than 104 years old. It was told to me by his son he had seen a grave yard of this sort when he was alot younger and had seen it when he was a kid. There was alot of Bush and Ford relatives buried there according to family grave lists. Also, when we were there there was a book of pictures of old houses and it had a color picture of Zack Ford house which we copied for our book of pics. No one back there knew where it was located or tore down. We loved your area back there and would like some help in getting info on this so we can come back there again and visit. Thomas I. Bush
