  Moore Family Cemetery

My wife and I purchased a home along Cummins Ferry Road last year.  It was built by James Moore in 1815.  There is a family graveyard on the property. The following is all of the information on the cemetery.                  Thanks,
                                                                                                  David Seay

The cemetery is approximately 40’ x 40’ and is situated on a small rise about 100 yards from the house.  There are many markers that have been destroyed over the years by cattle; tree roots and the elements.  There are numerous fieldstones throughout the cemetery laid out in rows alongside carved headstones.  The Moore Family Cemetery is listed in the Woodford Co., KY, Rural & Church Cemeteries booklet, pgs. 62-63.  The booklet lists 10 individuals buried in the cemetery, but  the actual number is around 35 individuals.  The booklet also contains a few errors with regards to names and dates.  The following information is an accurate list of names; dates and inscriptions that were taken directly from the headstones in the cemetery
