CHELTON, GEORGE                          S 1188        VIRGINIA

The above named soldier was living in the county of Woodford, 
state of Kentucky, when he applied for pension on the date of 
May 6, 1833.  Aged 85 years.  He was born in the county of 
Lancaster, State of Virginia.
He enlisted in the spring of 1781 in Virginia.  
Affidavit of a fellow soldier who served with him, by the 
name of Anthony Jenkins, his brother-in-law, was made in 
the county of Mercer, state of Kentucky date of May L 1833.  
He knew him first in 1776., and 1781, in Virginia and South 
Carolina.  
Mary Jenkins, wife of Anthony Jenkins, sister of George 
Chelton, aged 81 years, made affidavit in Mercer County, 
Kentucky date of May k, 1833
