George Rice and Arminta Ferguson DeHart.

Photo taken just after they were married in 1898.

Mintie Ferguson, b: August 7, 1873 m: September 18, 1898 d: May 16, 1917.

(She was only 43 years old when she past away from a heart problem.)

She was buried in The Darte Rice Cemetery in Adair Co., Kentucky. And was the Daughter of John Wesley and Corenthia Amanda Watson Ferguson.

 George Rice DeHart, b: January 2, 1872 d: 23 January 1946 at the age of 74.

He was buried at The Dunbar Cemetery in the Knifley area. The Son of Larkin and Lydia Margaret Floyd DeHart.

 Mintie & George had two children, Hallice Rice and Cautis Larkin DeHart.They lived in The Knifley area of Adair Co, Kentucky

 The information above was from The Family Bible which is held by Barbra Ann Walker Polakoff.

Their Grandson Bruce R. DeHarte sent the photo to me. It may be the only photo in existence of Mintie.

04/17/13 - Update!!

  • This photo has been identified as probably John Wood Collins and his wife Laura Ann Hurt Bryant Collins. 
  • Does anyone know where Laura is buried.  Last known residence was "Gradyville Ridge Road" in May 1910 census.  She died in 1914.

    • They appear to be wearing the same clothes as in the group photo.

  • A family picture with Laura's Bryant and Collins children.   This group photo was probably made around 1897, but that is a guess.  Need help to complete the ID of some in that photo.  
  • Are the males in the back row, of the group photo, her Collins or Bryant sons?
  • Is the girl on left (with dark clothes), in back row, Nona Bell Janes or Margaret Izora Garmon or someone else?
