Posted 7/8/2003 I am seeking any information about Ananias COFFEY and wife Jane HINDMAN. He supposedly died 1828. Does anyone have any idea where this date came from? The couple married in Green County but resided for years in Adair. I am descended from Louisa Caroline born 1827. She married Larken GOWEN and moved to Warrick County, Indiana. Supposedly, Jane COFFEY moved with another daughter to neighboring Pike County where she died in the 1860s. Another daughter, Eliza married Stephen STONE and is buried in the same cemetery as Louisa Caroline. There are COMER/COOMER connections. Larken Gowen's Mother was Nancy COMER of Stokes County, North Carolina. A sister of Louisa's married a COMER/COOMER. Any help with either COFFEY or COMER would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brenda acesfan@evansville.net Posted 7/3/2003 I am searching for information on my great great
great grandfather, George Downey. I have very little information on him,

child's name was Polly. The family moved to Indiana and are listed in the
1840 Federal Census in Indiana. Any information would be appreciated. Karen

My brickwall is my Williams family. My greatgrandfather, James Albert
Williams was born Aug. 31, 1869 probably in Kentucky. He is on the 1900
Gradyville, Adair Co. Ky census with wife Monty (believed to be Montra Duke)
and three daughters (one of them being my grandmother) By 1910 James
Williams is in McLennan Co, Texas with wife Alice Breeding. He
married Alice in 1900 in Adair Co., Ky. Alice's maiden name was Breeding
but also her 1st married name was Breeding and she had already been
living in Texas prior to marrying James Williams and had children from the
previous marriage. There were two stories that a newly found 1/2
Williams cousin related to me. First, James Albert Williams was supposed
to have been a Methodist curcuit rider preacher when in Kentucky.
Second, at some point he had a relationship with a woman and a child was born
from this relationship......I personally believe this child may have been my
grandmother. Her death certificate lists "Ellen Patton" as her
mother and her OLDER sister's death certificate lists Montra Duke as
her mother. James Albert Williams died in a tragic accident in Hill Co
Texas on Feb. 14. 1931. He worked for the state highway dept painting
the center stripes on the highways. This day he had been bent over
painting and when he raised up he stumbled and fell back in the path of an
oncoming bus. I looked up his death record in Hillsboro, Hill Co. Texas
and it list: "Father: J. Williams born in Tennessee, Mother: Mary Stotts
born in Cumberland Co.Ky". If any Williams researchers have any
idea about my Williams family please email me: Thanks, Lucretia Morales
