Adair County Vital Statistic Records, 1906 ‑ 1907 ‑‑ Deaths

The header card  for the two microfilmed pages from which these transcriptions were done states the records are for 1906‑1907, but only about 20 percent of the recorded deaths are for 1906. None of the 20 or 21 deaths which occurred as a result of the Gradyville flood of June, 1907 were included in the original pages.

The sequence of information for each entry is as follows: Name, color, age, gender, marital status (omitted for children), occupation (if given), death date, cause of death, place of birth, residence, & death, and names & birthplace(s) of parents.

Scott was working as editor of the Helena, Ark. Daily World newspaper when he was shot to death. His remains were returned to Adair County for interment in the Garnett (his wife's) Family Cemetery.]
