Last Sunday afternoon [July 7th] at the hour of 4 o'clock Mr. Butler
Wheeler's life work ended. He was quite an old man and was known to many
citizens of Adair County. He was afflicted with pulmonary trouble and
was confined to his room several months. He leaves a wife and a large
family of children, all grown.

Died, at his home on the 7th [of July], Mr. J.B. Wheeler, in his 80th
year with a complication of diseases. Uncle Butler as he was usually
called was one of our oldest citizens, a good neighbor and a member of
the Baptist church... He leaves an aged companion, eight children and a
host of friends to mourn their loss. The funeral was conducted by Rev.
H.T. Jesse and his remains interred at the family burying ground at
Sparksville.

Mrs. Emily Wheeler wife of the late Butler Wheeler, has been in critical
condition for several days.

Mrs. Emily Wheeler, 70 years of age, died at the home of her son, D.C.
Wheeler, on the 24[th of February], from a complication of diseases. She
was a member of the Baptist church.
