George Morris Promoted While Serving
Overseas
At Eight AAF Figher Station, England:--The promotion to rank of first
lieutenant of George W. Morris, 537 Wainwright St., Louisville, Ky., and
husband of the former Eloise Stapp, Columbia, Ky., has been announced at
this Eighth Fighter Command Station in England.
The P-51 Mustang fighter pilot is a member of Col. Donald W. Graham's
group, which has kayoed 300 German planes in five months of air
fighting.
The flier was a student at Lindsey Wilson Junior College before he
enlisted in the AAF, August 17, 1942. He attended Columbia, Ky., public
schools.
Lt. Morris' P-51 Mustang fighter is named: "SWEET ELOISE."
