News from Adair County
Adair County News, January 12, 1910 Last week while out hunting Mr. Milton Powell discovered what he thought to be turkey tracks and followed them under a cedar bush. Seeing that their wings were coated with ice he decided to get the dogs and make a capture. In his efforts to do this night came and the capture was carried over. Early the next morning Mr. Powell was on the spot with his bunch of trailers but the coveted birds had hit the march. After following them up, in the broad daylight the turkeys had donned the plumage and form of "de Turkey buzzard in de sky" and they were left unmolested. Expectation, fond hope cheated and disappointed. |
