On last Wednesday [February 28] at three o'clock, at the residence of W.S. Dudgeon, Mr. Jno. T. Banks was married to Miss Bessie Cundiff, Rev. W.S. Dudgeon officiated. The groom is the son of Mr. Geo. Banks, deceased, and is a prosperous youg farmer. The Bride is a third daughter of Mr. John Cundiff and is quite popular in her community where she was raised. * * *

Obituary
Died at the home of her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Cundiff, Bessie Clevland Banks, beloved wife of John Taylor Banks. Born Aug. 2nd, 1884, died September 17th 1909, at the age of 25 years, 1 month and 17 days of consumption. She had been confined to her bed 6 months. Married February 28th, 1906...
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and little son, Dennis Banks, 2 years and 6 [sic] months old, an aged father and mother, three sisters and three brothers.
She was aware that her sweet pure life was near the end and on Thursday [September 16th] called her loved ones one by one to her bedside and told them she wanted them to meet her in heaven, her Savior had called her home and gave her little boy on her death bed to her sister, Anna Cundiff...  Written by her aunt, Callie Todd. [The eulogy also states, quite indirectly, that Rev. W.S. Dudgeon preached Mrs. Banks' funeral service.]

Dennis Banks Succumbs After Long Illness
Dennis Banks, 39, died on Friday [May 31st] at his home near Columbia following a prolonged illness. He lived with his aunts, Miss Lela Cundiff and Mrs. E.J. Day [nee Anna Cundiff], and Mr. Day. He was a son of John Taylor Banks and the late Mrs. Bessie Cundiff Banks.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 Saturday at Stotts and Cheatham Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. H.J. Conover. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Messrs. George Todd, Rollin Todd, Albert Woodrum, S.M. Suddarth, Bill Hood and Leslie Keltner.

Rites Monday Afternoon For Mrs. Elijah Day
Mrs. Elijah Day, 65, died on Sunday, July 18, at her home near Columbia, following a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Day was born and reared here and before her marriage was Miss Anna Maude Cundiff, daughter of the late John Richard and Mary E. Todd Cundiff. She was member of the Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband; one sister, Miss Lela Cundiff, and three brothers, Finis, Ernest and J.W. Cundiff, all of Adair County.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Grissom Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. H.J. Conover. Interment was in the Murray [also known as the Todd] Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: S.M. Suddarth, David Murrell, Jim Hood, Jack Scott, Jim Murray and Bill Todd.
