"These are photos of the restored military monument at Plummer-Burchett Cemetery, past Carter Cave Entrance, and off Sutton Road, in Carter County KY. These were taken the last week of August 2005. We were at the cemetery in March and spoke with a local gentleman who told us a grant had been awarded to restore the monument/cemetery.
Also, they have graded the drive (road), providing a circle, or loop, alleviating the need to back up and turn around to exit. As can be seen in the full view photo of the monument, grass was seeded in an area next to the drive where excavated. This is a great improvement to the cemetery, as well as preserving continued honor to the veterans whose names are inscribed on the monument.
We had returned to the cemetery to repair the broken, displaced grave marker of my gr-gr-grandmother, Jane (Wooten) Huff."
