THOMAS JEFFERSON STAMPER2nd / James W. "John" Stamper 1st 
Thomas Jefferson Stamper Sr. was born June 17, 1832, Lewis County,
Kentucky, son of  James  W. " John" and Sarah  (Stamper) Stamper.  He is
listed at ages 18, 37 and  48 in the the1850, 1870, and 1880, Carter
County, Kentucky Census.  Thomas made his living as a farmer and his 
assets  were $1,800.00 in 1870.  According to Clarence Stamper and Erwin
genealogy, Thomas married on March 4, 1858, Grayson, Carter County,
Kentucky, to Martha Evelyn Erwin, also seen as Ervin.  Thomas died on May
25, 1893, Carter County, Kentucky, according to Bonnie McCoy Weirich,
however, Bonnie Tabor Carver carries his death on May 23. 1893.  Another
unidentified source carries his death on November 21, 1893, Smokey
Valley, Carter County, Kentucky, and said Thomas and Martha were
originally buried on their home farm from which they were moved when the
farm sold.  Thomas is buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter
County, Kentucky. 

Martha Evelyn Erwin was born April 14, 1838, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of  John Leander, born October 1, 1791, North Carolina and
Elizabeth (Dickerson) Erwin, born February  29, 1840, Virginia.  Martha
is listed in the 1850,1870, and 1880, Carter County, Kentucky Census at
ages 10, 33 and 43.  Clarence Stamper carries her death on April 24,
1900, while  Cleo Ruthard Woodrow Stamper stated she died  April 29,
1900.  Her monument has only the year.  Martha's brother Thomas Jackson
Erwin married Martha Stamper, a sister to Thomas Jefferson Stamper.  

CHILDREN OF THOMAS JEFFERSON AND MARTHA EVELYN (ERWIN) STAMPER
NANCY EMILY STAMPER was born November 16, 1861, Carter County, Kentucky,
by the  1861 -1862 Carter County, Kentucky Vital Statistics.  Nancy is a
twin  to  Thomas J. Stamper.  Because neither of the twins appear in the
1870 Census, it is believed that they died young in Carter County,
Kentucky. 
THOMAS JEFFERSON STAMPER JR. was born November 16, 1861, Carter County,
Kentucky, by the Carter County, Kentucky Vital Statistics-Births 1861
-1862.  Thomas Jr. is a twin to Nancy Emily.  
WILLIAM STAMPER was born about 1864, Carter County, Kentucky, by his ages
of 6 in the 1870 Carter County, Kentucky Census.  William was not listed
in  the 1880 Carter County, Kentucky Census.  Clarence Stamper carried
William's death on February 27, 1878.  An unidentified source carried
William married on February 27, 1878, to a Nancy who's maiden name is
unknown, and stated William seems to have had several wives.
JOHN LEWIS STAMPER was born November 18, 1865, as dated on his monument,
Carter County, Kentucky.  His death certificate list his birth in 1866. 
John married on February 17, 1895, Carter County, Kentucky, to Lilly W.
James.   
HIRAM WESLEY  STAMPER "Harm" was born about 1868, Carter County,
Kentucky, by his ages 2 and 11 seen in the 1870 and1880 Carter County,
Kentucky Census.  He married at age 19 in 1887, to Anna Belle Rayborn. 
Clarence Stamper carries him born in 1869. 
SAINT JAMES  STAMPER was born January 17,1870, Carter County, Kentucky,
as dated on his monument.  Saint James appeared in the 1870 and 1880
Carter County, Kentucky Census, at ages 4 months and 10 years.  James
married Rachel Elizabeth Ramey.			
AMOS STAMPER was born January 5, 1872, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  His death certificate lists his birth in 1871.  Amos is age 8
in the1880 Carter County, Kentucky Census.  Amos married three times,
first to Mary Abigail Buckler, second to Grace Leona (Kidd) Lancaster and
third to Ina Myrtle (Phillips) Hartly Stallard. Sources: Death

FATIMA STAMPER was born December 28, 1874, Carter County, Kentucky, as
dated on her monument.   Fatima was ages 6 and 46 in the 1880 and 1920
Carter County, Kentucky Census.
Fatima married Asa Dailey Jr.
CHARLES WHYTT STAMPER "Whitt" was born November 7,1875, Carter County,
Kentucky, as stated in his obituary.  Charles was listed age 4 in the
1880 Carter County, Kentucky Census.   Charles married Samantha Mary
Alice Miller.
ALBERT ELWOOD STAMPER was born January 17, 1876, Carter County, Kentucky,
as dated on his monument.  Albert was listed at age 3 in the 1880 Carter
County, Kentucky Census.  His obituary and death certificate lists him
born in 1878.  Albert married Martha Ellen Davis. 
JULIA ANN STAMPER was born September 14, 1879, Carter County, Kentucky,
as dated on her monument and listed in her death certificate.  Julia was
listed at 8 months of age in the  1880 Carter County, Kentucky Census.

JOHN LEWIS STAMPER 3rd/Thomas Jefferson Stamper 2nd/James W. "John"
Stamper 1st John Lewis Stamper was born November 18, 1865, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of Thomas Jefferson and Martha Evelyn (Erwin) Stamper. 
John's death certificate lists him born in 1866, and died September 10,
1932, both in conflict with his monument dates.  John Lewis was listed in
the 1870 and 1880 Carter County Kentucky Census at age 4 and 14.  John
married on February 17, 1895, Carter County, Kentucky, to Lydia
Washington James "Lilly" and "Lillie".  Their  witnesses were John G.
Tackett and Fatima Stamper.  At least 13 children were born to this
union.  John Lewis, a 65 year old farmer, died September 18, 1932, of
chronic interstitial nephritis, Carter County, Kentucky.  John is buried
in the Stamper-King Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  Sources: Death

unidentified source carries John L. Married to a Bette Jarvis.

Lydia James was born May 5, 1874, Kentucky.  Her monument lists her as
Lilly W., which Delores Stamper said stood for Washington.  Her name has
also been seen as Lillie and Lilly, the later was the spelling she
married under.  Lydia was listed at ages 26 and 45 in the 1900 and 1920,
Kentucy Census. Lydia died on December 6, 1937, at home, Fultz Road,
Carter County, Kentucky.  She is buried in the Stamper-King Cemetery,
Carter County, Kentucky.  Lydia's statistics are from the 1900, and 1920,
Kentucy Census, her  monument, marriage certificate and children's
records.

her monument.  Bertha was listed at age 5 in the 1900, Carter County,
Kentucky Census.   Bertha, age 38,  married  February 20, 1934, Music,
Carter County, Kentucky, to Jesse Caudill Leadingham, a 59 year old
widowed, the son of William and  Nelsa (Parsons) Leadingham.  No children
were born to this union.  Bertha, age 88, died October 20, 1983, Scioto
Memorial Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  She is buried in the
Stamper-King Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  According to her
obituary, Bertha had a foster son, Billy Stamper.  Her husband, J.D.
Caudill, was buried December 2, 1960, Leadingham Cemetery, Beetle, Carter

CARRIE LEE STAMPER was born November 24, 1896, Carter County, Kentucky. 
Carried Lee was age 6 and 23 in the 1900 and 1920, Carter County,
Kentucky Census.  Carrie was single and died on April 29, 1937, of
chronic nephritis, Carter County, Kentucky.  She died April 28, which
conflicts with her monument date.  Carrie is buried in the Stamper-King

have died young as he was not listed in the 1900 Carter County Kentucky
Census. 
HOMER THOMAS STAMPER was born August 14, 1901, Carter County, Kentucky,
as dated on his monument.  Homer was listed at age 18 in the 1920 Carter
County, Kentucky Census.   Homer died on November 2, 1926, probably
Carter County, Kentucky.  He is buried in the Stamper- King Cemetery,

HASKELL SCOTT STAMPER "Scott Haskell" was born March 24, 1911, Carter
County, Kentucky.  Scott's military marker shows he serve as a Private in
Company  E, 415th Infantry, WW II.   Scott, a 59 year old farmer, died
September 18, 1970, of rheumatic heart disease, Southern Hills Hospital,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  He is buried in the Sunset Cemetery,
Quincy, Kentucky.  Scott was married to Violet M. Woodward, born January
26, 1917, Lewis County, Kentucky, daughter of John W. and Pearle (Wolfe)
Woodward.  Violet was a retired employee of Mitchellace Corporation in
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  Violet, age 73, died February 6,1990,
of acute myocardial infarction due to arteriosclerosis, Portsmouth,
Scioto County, Ohio.  She is buried in the Sunset Cemetery, Quincy,
Kentucky.  No children were mention in Haskel or Violet's obituaries.

Kentucky.   Ethel married Samuel Church.   Ethel married twice, first to

BESSIE ELIZABETH  STAMPER was born July 13, 1916, Carter County,
Kentucky, as seen on her monument.  Bessie married twice, first to a Mr.
Jenkins, second to Arnold Gee.
WILLIAM EDWARD STAMPER "Willie" was born January 8, 1921, Carter County,
Kentucky ( Ky. Vital Statistics vol 2 cert ), and died June 20, 1921,
Carter County, Kentucky (Ky. Vital statistics vol 24 cert 11808), as
dated on his monument.  He is buried in the in the Stamper -King
Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  
LETHA LOUISE STAMPER was born September 8, 1924, Carter County, Kentucky.
 Delores Stamper stated that Letha died as a child prior to 1900.

Stamper 2nd / James W. "John" Stamper 1st 
Walter Thurston Stamper was born January 23, 1904, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of  John Lewis and Lydia (James) Stamper.  The 1920 Carter
County, Kentucky Census listed Walter at age 16.  Walter, age 31, 
married February 2, 1935, Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky to  Nelle
(Bradford) Sebastian, a 32 year old widow.  Their witnesses were Luella
Hall and Douglas Hall.At least two children were born to this union. 
Walter was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of God, at South
Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky.  Walter, age 90, died November 30, 1994,
of heart failure due to post op small bowel obstruction and post op
gangrene of bowel, in the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth,
Scioto County, Ohio.   Walter and his spouse, who preceded him in death,
are buried Collier Memorial Gardens, South Portsmouth, Greenup County,
Kentucky.  At death, Walter had 2 grandchildren and  2 g-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by 5 brothers and  4 sisters.  Walter's
statistics are from the 1920 Carter County, Kentucky Census, his birth,
marriage and death certificates, obituary and monument.

Nelle (Bradford) Sebastian was born October 23, 1902, Carter County,
Kentucky, daughter of  John and Sarah Clay Bradford.  She was a member of
the Pentecostal Church of God at South Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky. 
Nelle, age 81, died December 2, 1983, of a respiratory collapse due to
congestive heart failure due to atrial fibrillation in Southern Hills
Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  She was buried December 5,
1983, Collier Memorial Gardens, South Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky.

Charles T. Stamper was probably born in Kentucky, the son of Walter
Thurston and Nelle (Bradford) Sebastian Stamper.  Charles lived in
Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, at the time of his father's death in
December 1994.  A 4-H news article on a daughter showed he had married
but his spouse is unknown.  They had at least one child as documented in
a Independent news article dated July 7, 1985, announcing their
daughter's engagement.

AMY ANNE STAMPER was possibly born in Kentucky, based articles on her
that were published in  in Kentucky newspapers.  Amy was a 1979 graduate
of Westland High School in Ohio.  Amy was chosen to represent Ohio 4-H in
Washington, D.C.  She had been in 4-H for seven years.  Later, Amy was an
employee of the Central Ohio Pulmonary Disease Corporation at Columbus,
Franklin County, Ohio. She later left the area for Guatemala, where her
bridegroom was a self-employed rancher.  Amy was a graduate of Morehead
State University. Morehead, Kentucky.   On July 7. 1985, Amy's 
engagement to Jose Domingo Bareiro of Guatemala City, Guatmala was
published in the Sunday Independent, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.





























NORA GLADYS STAMPER SPARKS 4th /John Lewis Stamper 3rd /Thomas Jefferson
Stamper 2nd / James W. "John" Stamper 1st 
Nora Gladys Stamper was born December 26, 1908, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of  John Lewis and Lydia (James) Stamper.  Nora, age 22, married
April 23, 1931, Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky, to Hugh Russell Sparks,
age 25.  Bertha Stamper and David Jones were witnesses.   At least 11
children were born to this union.  Nora died at home at age 86 on
February 12, 1995, of intractable congestive heart failure due to
pulmonary edema and C. A. D., Gregoryville, Carter County, Kentucky.  She
is buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  At time of her death, Nora had 25 grandchildren, 48
great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.  Sources: Marriage

Hugh Russell Sparks was born June10, 1903, Stark, Elliott County,
Kentucky, son of Ashby  F. and Amanda (Mauk) Sparks.   He was a retired
employee with 21 years of service for the  C & O Railroad.  Hugh was a
member of the Clifty United Baptist Church and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
 Hugh died at age 88 on October 12, 1991, in the King's Daughters'
Medical Center, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  He is buried in the
Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  Hugh's
statistics are from his obituary and monument.

MAGDALINE SPARKS "Maggie" was born November 24, 1938.  Magdaline married 
Elmer Sparks and lived in Gregoryville, Carter County, Kentucky, February
22, 1995.
JOYCE SPARKS was born November 27, 1940.  Joyce married Clyde Burke and
they lived in Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky, February 22,  1995. 
IVAN RAY SPARKS was born November 9, 1942.  Ivan married a  Pearl ? and
they lived in   Springfield, Ohio, February 22, 1995. 
CHARLES  R.  SPARKS was born October 18, 1944, Carter County, Kentucky. 
Charles married Elzie Middleton and they lived in Gregoryville, Carter
County, Kentucky, February  22, 1995.

ETHEL HAZEL STAMPER CHURCH MOORE  4th /John Lewis Stamper 3rd /Thomas
Jefferson Stamper 2nd / James W. "John" Stamper 1st 
Ethel Hazel Stamper was born August 3, 1913, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of John Lewis and Lydia (James) Stamper.  Ethel was age 6 in the
1920 Kentucky Census.  According to Myrtle Stamper, Ethel had a
common-law commitment with Acie of which four children were born.  She
stated that Ethel and Acie did not marry.   After this commitment, both
married two times. Ethel first married Samuel Church and second married
James K. Moore.  Sources: obituary, monument,  marriage certificate with

Acie Stamper was born October 30, 1897, Carter County, Kentucky, son of
Saint James and     Rachel Elizabeth (Ramey) Stamper.   Both, Ethel Hazel
Stamper and Acie Stamper are descendants of  Thomas Jefferson Stamper. 
They will also appear in the Martha Stamper book because Acie Stamper's
father, Saint James Stamper, married into the Martha Stamper line. 
Thomas Jefferson Stamper and Martha Stamper are children of James W.
Stamper, better known as Pewter John Stamper.  Acie's statistics are from
his death certificate, funeral program and obituary which can be found

ARTHUR HASKEN STAMPER was born June 27, 1936, Carter County, Kentucky,
according to his death certificate.  Arthur worked as a diesel mechanic
and he was married to Kathy Cox, living in Aberdeen, Brown County, Ohio,
in January 1992.  Arthur died. at age 55 on January 15, 1992, of
carcinoma of the lung, Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Hamilton
County, Ohio. He was buried on January 18, 1992, in the  Maplewood
Cemetery, Ripley, Ohio.  His mother's obituary lists him as Arthur Hester
Stamper.
WILLIAM STAMPER "Bill" lived Aberdeen, Brown County, Ohio, in January
1978.  His sister, Olive's obituary lists him as Bill Stamper.   	
NORMA ELIZABETH STAMPER married at least twice, first to a Mr. Ramey and
second to a Mr. Galloway.  She is listed Norma Elizabeth Ramey in her
mother's obituary of January 26, 1978.   Her sister, Olive's obituary
lists her as Norma Elizabeth Galloway in January 1987, and living in
Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.

Olive Louise Stamper was born December 30, 1932, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of Ethel Hazel Stamper and Acie Stamper.  Olive married a Mr.
Groves.  At least one child was born to this union.  Her information is
taken from her obituary.

CHILD OF OLIVE LOUISE STAMPER AND A MR. GROVES 
JAMES VERNON  GROVES lived in Burlington, California in January 1987,
according to his mother's obituary.

Olive Louise Stamper Groves had one child between her two marriages
according to Delores Stamper.  Delores did not know the child's father. 

CHILDREN OF OLIVE LOUISE STAMPER GROVES
ETHEL ANNETTE married a Mr. Cordell and lived in Ashland, Boyd County,
Kentucky, in January 1987, by Olive's obituary. 

Olive Louise Stamper Groves  married a second time to Richard H. Blevins
as seen in her obituary.   She was a member of Oak Ridge Chapel in
Interlachen, Florida.  Olive died at age 54 on January 25, 1987, of
injuries in auto accident, Shands Peaching Hospital, Gainsville, Florida.
  She is buried in the Palatka Memorial Gardens, Interlachen, Florida. 
At time of her death, Olive  had 5 grandchildren.  Richard H. Blevins
"Rick" was living on January 28, 1987, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky,
according to Olive's obituary.

Ethel Hazel Stamper, daughter of John Lewis and Lydia (James Stamper),
married at age 27 on May 2, 1940, at Music, Kentucky, to Samuel Church,
age 47 and widowed, according to her marriage certificate.  Witnesses
were  Bertha Leadingham and Sidney Louie Fraley.  One child was born to

Samuel Simon Church "Gabe" was born September 1, 1896, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of  Kelly and Mary Jane (Leadingham) Church, according to
his obituary.  Samuel died at age 62 on 
April 17, 1950,  Boyd County, Kentucky.  Samuel was buried in the Dixon
Cemetery, probably in Carter County, Kentucky.  Samuel was previously
married and his children by his first marriage are: Homer, Clifford,

MACK DOUGLAS CHURCH lived in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky, in
Janusry,1987, according to Olive Louise (Stamper) Blevins's obituary. 
This was the only Douglas child mention in Ethel Hazel's obituary.

Ethel Hazel Stamper Church married a second time to James K. Moore,
according to Ethel Hazel's obituary.  Twin sons  were born to this union.
 Ethel died at age 64 on January 25, 1978, King's Daughters' Hospital,
Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky as dated on her monument.  She is buried
in the  Stamper - King Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  At time of her

the son of Tomas Jefferson and Martha Evelyn (Erwin) Stamper.  Hiram was
listed at 2, 11and 32 in the 1870,1880 and 1900 Carter County, Kentucky
Census.  Clarence Stamper carries him born in 1869.  Hiram, a 19 year old
farmer, married September 22, 1887, Carter County, Kentucky, to Anna
Belle Rayborn.  Jefferson Stamper gave consent for this marriage as did
Willaim and Mary Raybourne..  The witnesses were Stephen Davis and
Charles Hinton.  Most Stamper genealogy lists Hiram dying about 1907,
Carter County, Kentucky, and buried on the home farm, Smokey Valley,
Lewis County, Kentucky.  A listing of deaths at Walnut Grove Cemetery

she married in Columbus, Ohio, to a Greek Doctor and they had twins.

ADA STAMPER was born in September 1895, Carter County, Kentucky.  The
1900 Carter County, Kentucky Census lists her at age  4.

 James was age 2 and in the 1900 Carter County, Kentucky Census.   James
married Dorothy Mae Bates.
LODENA MAE STAMPER was born in 1900, Carter County, Kentucky, and died in
1977, according to her monument and a Walnut Grove Cemetery listing where

Harman Edward Stamper "Hiram" was born August 31, 1890, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of Hiram Wesley and Anna Belle Rayborn Stamper.  He was age
9 in the 1900 Carter County, Kentucky  Census.  Harman, age 22, married
July 24, 1915, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, to Juanita Procter, age
19.  At least three children were born to this union.  He retired from
the Selby Shoe Company, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, according to
Leora Alice Stamper.  Harman Edward, a  86 year old Baptist, died
September 26, 1976, of carcinoma of rectum with metastasis and 
arteriosclerosis, generalized with senility,  Elmwood Village
Convalescent Center, Scioto County, Ohio. Harmon and Juanita are buried

Ohio, to Walter Lester Cyrus, a 22 year old stock clerk.   Two children

Greenup County, Kentucky, to Thomas Lawrence Kinney.  She said one child
was born to this union.

Thomas Lawrence Kinney died in 1941, Kirkland Air Force Base,
Albuquerque, New, Mexico, in a plane crash.  Thomas Lawrence is buried in
Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio.  Thomas' data was provided by Leora Alice

30, 1921, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, son of Alex and Agnes
(Jeanqunat) Duplain.  Harold  obtained the rank of Major in the U.S. Air
Force.   Harold Died in 1982, Lansing, Michigan, and he is buried in the
Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  Jewell Mary was
last known to live in Melborne, Florida, with two of her children.

Harmon Edward Stamper Jr. was born October 7, 1925,  Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio, son of Harmon Edward Sr. and Juanita (Proctor) Stamper. 
Harmon Edward married Virginia Ruth Crabtree.   Four children were born
to this union.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict from
September 22, 1950, to December 20, 1950, at which time he receive a
honorable discharge.  He retired as a security officer for Goodyear
Atomic Corporation.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church. 
Harmon died at age 50 on March 14, 1976, of acute coronary thrombosis due
to severe coronary artery disease with hypertension, Mercy Hospital,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  He was buried on March 17, 1976, with
military grave side services by James Dickey Post America Legion,  Scioto
Burial Park, Rush Township, Scioto County, Ohio.   Harman Jr.'s
statistics are from his birth and death certificates, military record and
obituary.

Giannetti.  At least one child was born to this union which ended in
divorce.  At the time of this child's birth, James was a 28 year old shoe
worker.  James death data will appear after his second marriage.

Dorothy Mae Bates, born January 21, 1908, Lawrence County, Ohio, the
daughter of John and Minnie (Carroll) Bates.  It is believed that no
children were born to this union.  At time of his marriage to Dorothy,
James  was a Shelby Shoe Company employee and owner of Stamper
Apartments.  His and Dorothy's marriage also ended in divorce.  James
Monroe, age 61, died  August 29, 1958, of myocardial failure due to
glomerular nephritis, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  He was buried
September 1, 1958, Memorial Park, Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio

union.  Lodena was living in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, on August
30, 1958.  Her death came in 1977, according to Internet genealogy.  She
is buried Walnut Grove Cemetery, Lewis County, Kentucky.  Her dad's death
certificate and obituary  lists  her as Lodena M. Downs and Lodena Mae

Stamper.  He is James, age 10, in the 1880 Kentucky Census . Saint James
married June 5,  1890, probably in Carter County, Kentucky, to Rachel
Elizabeth Ramey.  They made there home in Pleasant Valley, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky. At least eight children were born to this
union.. Saint James, age 69, died November 21, 1939, of apoplexy, Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.   He was buried  November 23, 1939,
Stamper Cemetery, Prater Road located on a  farm formerly known as the

Rachel Elizabeth Ramey "Lizzie"was born April 11, 1874, Olive Hill,

daughter of Saint James and Rachel Elizabeth (Ramey) Stamper.  Cora Lee,
age 21,  first married June 27, 1912,  Jeff  Reynolds', Carter County,
Kentucky, to Watson A, Davis Jr. a 36 year old merchant.  Their witnesses
were Kay Reynolds and Dellie Stamper.  One son was born to this union

CARL WATSON DAVIS was born June  4, 1913, Smokey Valley, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky.  Carl was raised by his grandparents, Saint
James and Rachel Elizabeth (Ramey) Stamper.  Carl served in the medical
field of the U.S. Army for five years which took him  to  England,
France, Germany and N. Africa.  A 32 year old shoe worker, Carl married
on April 11, 1956, to Hazel Isabelle Goodan, age 32.  No children were
born to this union.  Carl died at age 75 on March 27, 1989, of
cardiopulmonary heart due to myocardial infraction, Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio.  Carl is buried in the Floral Hills Memory Garden, Franklin
Furnace, Scioto County, Ohio.   Carl's statistic are from his marriage

Hazel Isabell Goodan, a retired Bake Shope employee, was born January 22,
1914,  Elliottville, Elliott County, Kentucky, daughter of Vilas Lee and
Beatrice (Collins) Goodan.  She died at age 83 on May 26, 1997, of
arteriosclerotic heart disease, Edgewood Manor, Lucasville, Scioto
County, Ohio.  She is buried in Sunset Gardens, Franklin Furnace, Scioto
County, Ohio.  She was of the Apostolic faith.  In March 1996, Hazel
Isabell (Goodan) Davis furnished information on this family line.   Her
statistics also came from her death certificate and obituary.

Cora Lee Stamper Davis married a second time on October 23, 1920,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, to Chester William Trisler, age 26. 
Chester , a railroad engineer, was born July 18, 1894, Garrison, Lewis
County, Kentucky, son of William and Lucy B. Canus Trisler.  Two children
were born to this union.  Hazel Isabell said Cora Lee died and was buried

Jefferson Wheeler Stamper was born May 22, 1893, Prater, Carter County,
Kentucky, the son of  Saint James and Rachel Elizabeth  (Ramey) Stamper. 
Jefferson, a 25 year old WW I  soldier, married  November 17, 1918, at
Carter Kiser's, Carter County,  Kentucky, to Ivy Bond, age 21, born
about1897, Carter County, Kentucky, daughter of Dick and Effie (Dean)
Bond. Their witnesses were May Bond and Willie Dailey.  No children were
born to this union which ended in divorce in 1919.  Sources: Marriage

Jefferson Wheeler Stamper, age 27, married a second time  June 24, 1920,
Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, to Letha Mae Fannin, age 22,
daughter of Burl and Louisa (Perry) Fannin,
Their witnesses were M.B. Mauk and Ethel Parker. Six children were born
to this union.  Jefferson, age 83, died  May 3, 1977, of renal failure
due to carcinoma of prostate and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease,
VA. Hospital,  Huntington, Wayne Count, West Virginia.  He is buried

Letha Mae Fannin was born March 9, 1900, McGlone Creek, Carter County,
Kentucky, daughter of Burl Fannin.  Letha, age 84, died July 4, 1984, of
respiratory arrest, St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, Rowan County,
Kentucky,  Letha is buried Bethel Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.

monument.   Teddy served as a WW II, S/Sgt. with the 93rd. AAF Bomb
Group, WW II.  He died on  December 1, 1943, in  Belgium, according to
his military marker and James Stamper, a descendant living in Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky in 1998. Teddy married Mary Louise Ellis.  No
children were born to Teddy and Mary Louise.  Mary Louise (Ellis) Stamper
entered a training school in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 29, 1945. 
Afterward, she would be affiliated with  government Red Cross Work. She
attended "School of Applied Social Science, Cleveland, Ohio.  Mary was a
former Boyd County, Kentucky High School Teacher as published in The
Sunday Independent, Ashland, Kentucky. 
JAMES STAMPER was born September 6, 1925,  Carter County, Kentucky,
according to  Kentucky   Vital Statistics - Births volume 113 certificate
56067.  James married Ruby Helen Campbell.
CLAYTON STAMPER was born September 26, 1926,  Carter County, Kentucky, by
his obituary and monument.  Clayton married Josephine Stephens.

James Stamper was born September 6, 1925, Prater, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of  Jefferson Wheeler and Letha Mae (Fannin) Stamper. 
James has no middle name.  James served as a Pfc, U.S. Army, Field
Artillery from 27 November 1943 to 30 April 1946.  He took his basic
training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and was later stationed at Camp
Atterbury, Indiana, where he was honorably discharged.    He is a retired
postal employee.   James married at age 22 on September 27, 1947,
Norwood, Hamilton County, Ohio, to Ruby Helen Campbell, age 22.  One
child was born to this union.  A second child was raised by James and
Ruby as their own when the child's parents separated.  James and Ruby
lived in Liberty, Casey County, Kentucky, in December 2001.  Thanks go to

Kentucky.  Ruby's dad was born April 15, 1896, Krypton, Perry County,
Kentucky, and he died September 30, 1952, at home, Krypton, Perry County,
Kentucky. 
Ruby's mother was born July 12, 1898, Krypton , Perry County, Kentucky,
and she died April 19,  1939, Krypton, Perry County, Kentucky.  Luther
and Lena are buried in the family cemetery at Campbell's Creek, Kentucky.

Clayton Stamper Sr. was born September 26, 1926, Carter County, Kentucky,
the son of  Jefferson Wheeler and Letha Mae (Fannin) Stamper.  Clayton
served as  Private in the U.S. Army, WW II.  Clayton married about 1944
to Josephine Stephens.  At least three children were born to this union. 
Clayton's died at age 57 on September 7, 1984, in the VA Hospital at
Huntington, West Virginia.  He is buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Olive

Josephine Stephens was born January 4, 1930, Carter County, Kentucky, the
daughter of  William H. and Stella Viars Stephens.  Josephine died at age

divorce on December 31, 1927,.  At age 31, Esther Stamper Murphy married
a second time on  October 16, 1959, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky,
to Homer B. Dameron Jr., age 28 and divorced from his previous spouse on
July 21, 1931.  Esther and Homer married at the home of  James and  Ruby
Helen Stamper.  Homer B. Jr. was born July 21, 1931, Bath County,
Kentucky, son of Homer. B. Sr. and Belbia (Adams) Dameran.  One child was

of Saint James and Rachel Elizabeth Ramey Stamper.  A descendant, Myrtle
Stamper, said that Acie fathered children by Ethel Hazel Stamper Moore in
a non- martial commitment.  Both Acie Stamper and  Ethel Hazel Stamper
are descendants of the Thomas Jefferson Stamper line and their family
history is  covered under Ethel Hazel's lineage, therefore, it will not
be repeated under Acie's history.  Ethel Hazel Stamper's lineage is Ethel
Hazel Stamper Church Moore 4th /John Lewis Stamper 3rd /Thomas Jefferson

Acie Stamper first married in Carter County, Kentucky, to Bessie Marie
Adams, daughter of  Sylvester and Hiley Belle Stamper Adams.  According

Acie Stamper, age 35,  married  a second time March 12, 1933, Carter
County, Kentucky, to Ruby Workman, age 16, at the home of Eli Workman. 
Their witnesses were Albert Stamper and Ugene W. Workman.  One daughter
was born to this union.  Acie was a retired farmer and miner.  Acie serve
as a Sgt., U.S. Army in both WW I and WW II.  Acie, age 66, died November
29, 1963, of  reticulum cell sarcoma of colon, King's Daughters'
Hospital, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  Acie was buried December 3,
Carter County Memorial Gardens, Grayson,  Carter County, Kentucky.

Greyhound Bus Lines.    Bobby was born July 5, 1926, Carter County,
Kentucky, the son of Russell L. and Reba (David) Jones.  Bobby's military
marker shows he was in the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam Conflict. 
His funeral program shows Bobby  died September 9, 1972.  He is buried in
the Olive Hill Memory Gardens, Carter County, Kentucky.     Her marriage

Everett worked as a farmer and brickyard employee.  Everett, age 28,
married October 14, 1939, Counts Cross Roads, Carter County, Kentucky, to
Hazel Haney, age 20.   Their witnesses were Clem Tabor and Cane Donit. 
At least one child was born to this union.   Everett,  a member of the
Wesleyan Church, died at age 80  May 30, 1991, of sudden cardiac death
due to uremia and chronic renal failure, St. Claire Medical Center,
Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.  Everett is buried  Pleasant Valley

1892, to Mary Abigail Buckler probably in Carter County, Kentucky.  At
least 12 children were born to this union.  Amos' retirement and death

Mary Abigail Buckler was born January 26, 1872, Adams County, Ohio,

Anna Belle (Stamper) Baker married a second time to Emmett J. Suttmiller,
Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.  Emmett was born in 1892, Cincinnati,
Hamilton County, Ohio, son of  Mary Suttmiller.   Emmett retired from
Cincinnati Milling Machine Company, Hamilton County, Ohio.  He died in
1957, Bethesda Hospital, Hamilton County, Ohio, according to an article
on his  Requiem High Mass .  Lenora Cyrus said Emmet is buried iVine
Street Hill Cemetery, East Clifton, Hamilton County, Ohio.   Anna Belle's
two husbands are buried side by side and are on the same monument.  Harry
July, husband of Mary Jane Stamper,  Amos Stamper's daughter, said no
children were born to this union.  Anna Belle Stamper Suttmiller, a 95
year old retired nurse, died  June 18, 1988, of acute myocardial
infarction due to coronary artery disease, St. Luke Center for older
adults, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.  She was cremated June 22, and
interned in the Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Kentucky.  Her marriage certificate lists her born October 27.  Fatima,
age 23, married July 15, 1922, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, to Noah
Ripato, age 20.  No children were born to this union.  Fatima, age 89,
died  April 5, 1988, of CAO, Hilltop Nursing Home, Dayton, Montgomery

Jesse Stamper was born October 23, 1893, Smokey Valley, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of  Amos and Mary Abigail (Buckler) Stamper.  Jesse is age
25 and married in the 1920, Carter County, Kentucky Census.   At age 22,
Jesse married November 13, 1915, Carter County, Kentucky to Grace
Brinager.  Their witnesses were Ellen Miller and Goody Brinegar.  At
least seven children were born to this union of which six were mentioned
in Jesse's obituary.  He was a former employee of the Olive Hill
Manufacturing Company.  Jesse, age 69, died  September 27, 1963, of
bronchopneumonia due to congestive heart failure and artery heart disease
plus cerebral thrombosis, St. Claire Medical Center,  Rowan County,
Kentucky.  Jesse is buried Garvin Ridge Cemetery, Carter County,
Kentucky.

Grace Brinager "Gracie" was born July 7, 1901, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of Grovie and Martha (Miller) Brinager.  The 1920, Carter
County, Kentucky Census lists Grace at age 18.  Some documents spell her
name as Brinegar and Brinigar.  She was a member of the James Chapel
Church of Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  Grace died at age 94 on
September 26, 1995, Columbus Convalescence Center, Indiana.  She is
buried Garvin Ridge Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  At time of death,
Gracie had 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

farmer who married at age 27 under James O. on August 9, 1946, to Rejean
Stamper, age 21, born about 1925,  Lewis County, Kentucky, daughter of
Earl and Clara (Manning) Stamper.  James O. was living in Fairborn, Ohio,
in June 1998, as seen in his sister, Arlie's obituary.  Sadie Stamper
Greer said James Otis was in a Fairborn, Ohio, nursing home with a severe
stroke in December 2001. 
MARY ELIZABETH STAMPER was born November 28, 1921,  Carter County,

114  certificate 56520-Birth.  Mary Elizabeth died in infancy on November
29,1921, of mitral insufficiency, Carter County, Kentucky.   She was
buried on December 1,1921, Stamper Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.

OLA MAE STAMPER was born April 17, 1923, Carter County, Kentucky, by
Kentucky Vital Statistics -Births volume 37 certificate 18349.  Ola
married a Mr. Wyrick and lived in  Flat Rock, Indiana, on June 2, 1998,

marriage certificate shows he married at age 19 on October 18, 1957,
Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, to  Carolyn Lee Baker, age 15,
daughter of James Carsil and Virginia ( Eden) Baker.  Cleo Ruthard
Woodrow Stamper said Carolyn was born February  8, 1942, King's
Daughters' Hospital, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  Marvin lived in
Muncie, Indiana, in November 1996, at which time he sent Gladys Stamper
Meyers some Stamper genealogy he held.  Cleo Ruthard Woodrow Stamper said
James Carsil Baker's parents are Nathan and Bertha (Qualls) Baker.

Dollie Stamper was born October 31, 1899, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of  Amos and Mary Abagail (Buckler) Stamper.  Dollie's original
monument has her born 1900, however, her death certificate was corrected
to read October 31, 1899.  Dollie, age 19,  married October 21, 1919, to
Thomas J. Hawthrone, a 23 year old laborer.  At least four children were
born to this union.  Dollie died at age 88 on November 29, 1987, of acute
cardiopulmonary arrest due to cerebrovascular insufficiency due to
generalized arteriosclerosis, Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio.  Her monument list her death on November 27, vice on November 29. 
Dollie was buried December  2, 1987, Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore,
Greenup County, Kentucky.   Dollie's statistics are from her marriage and

Thomas  J. Hawthrone was born February 10, 1896, Lewis County, Kentucky,
son of  H. M. and Bell (Reader) Hawthorne.  Thomas' monument shows he
served as a Private in the U.S. Army during WWI, and died in 1928,
possibly in Garrison, Kentucky.  Thomas is buried in the Mt. Zion
Cemetery on Route 23, South Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky.

CHESTER A. HAWTHORNE was born February 20, 1921,Greenup County, Kentucky,
as shown in his obituary and funeral program.  Chester was disabled and
never married.  He was a retired machinist from Delco General Motors in
Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.  Chester served in the U.S. Army Air
Corps in WW II.  Chester's death certificate shows he died at age 78 on
February 1,  2000, of ischemia heart disease due to myocardial
infraction, Meadowview Hospital, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.  He
is buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Greenup County,
Kentucky, with grave side military services by James L. Flannery Post.

EMMITT R. HAWTHORNE, a self-employed electrician, was born September 14,
1922, Greenup County, Kentucky.  Emmitt never married.  His monument
shows Emmett served as Signalman 1st Class, U.S. Navy from 22 Oct. 1942
to 7 Feb. 1946, WWII from which he was honorable discharged.  He was a
member of Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge No. 937.  Emmett's death
certificate shows he died at age 61 on December 26, 1983, of cardiac
arrest due to myocardial infraction, Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio.  He was buried on December 28, 1983, with grave side rites
by James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276, Mt. Zion Cemetery, South
Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky.
ROBERT H. HAWTHORNE, who never married, was born October 4, 1924, Greenup
County, Kentucky, as shown on his death certificate.  His monument shows
Robert served as Signalman 1st Class, U.S. Army, WW II.   He was a member
of Flannery Post American Legion.  Robert died at age 53 on October 18,
1977, of adenocarcinoma of left upper lobe, VA Hospital, Huntington, West
Virginia. He was  buried October 21, 1977, Mt. Zion Cemetery, South
Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky. 
BETTY  ROMAINE HAWTHORNE was born August 10, 1926, Greenup County,

Kentucky,     daughter of Dollie Stamper and Thomas J. Hawthrone.  Betty
married on January 31, 1946, probably in Kentucky, to Mack Donald
Williams.  At least three children were born to this union Betty was a
member of St. Paul Church of Christ, St Paul, Lewis County, Kentucky, and
the Radiance Chapter of Easter Star, South Shore, Greenup County,
Kentucky.  Betty died at age 72 on December 22, 1998, King's Daughters'
Medical Center, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  She is buried in the
Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, Lewis County, Kentucky.  At time of death, Betty
had 3 grandchildren.  Betty's Statistics are from her obituary and

Mack Donald Williams' monument shows he was born March 28, 1925, Franklin
Furnace, Scioto County, Ohio.  He was an employee of Harbison-Walker in
September of 1964.  Mack Donald was living in Quincy, Kentucky, on

THOMAS MACK WILLIAMS' was born and died November15, Mercy Hospital,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  His birth was  premature at 6½ months
and 3 pounds.  He lived 31 minutes before God opened his arms and
welcomed him home on November15, 1946, according to his birth and death
certificates.  Tommie was laid to rest the next day in the Sunset
Cemetery, Quincy, Lewis County, Kentucky.  Thomas statistics are from his

DOLLIE DIANNE WILLIAMS "Dottie" was born September 8, 1964, Mercy

who is a minister and they lived in Quincy, Kentucky, in December 1998. 
They had one child, Joe Cluff Jr.   Tommy, Granville and Dollie's names

prior to 1941, and later for the  Frigidaire Plant, Dayton, Montgomery
County, Ohio.  Stella, age 18, married July 31, 1920, to Marion John
Eaton Flagg, age 21,  Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  Two children were
born to this union.  In October 1995, Harry Albert July said Stella died
about 1993, at age 92 or 93 in a  Nursing Home in Dayton, Montgomery
County, Ohio, and was buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.

Marion John Eaton Flagg was born October 12, 1898, Wheeling, West
Virginia, son of  Stewart and Anna (Elmery) Flagg.  Marion served in the

Company.  Marion died at age 73 on  June 7, 1970,  V.A. Hospital, Dayton,
Montgomery County, Ohio.   He is buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery,

Arthur Edward Stamper was born February 1, 1903, Olive Hill, Carter
County, Kentucky, of an amour between Amos Stamper and Maude James
according to Arthur's daughter, Jo Anne Stamper Conard.  Arthur, a
roofer, married July 8, 1933, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, to Mildred
Josephine Boyd, born July 18, 1910,  Monessen, Westmoreland County,
Pennsylvania.  Three children were born to this union.  Arthur and
Mildred were of the Baptist faith.  Arthur died August 20, 1975,  Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  Arthur is buried in the Cadillac Memorial
Gardens, Mt. Clemens, Michigan.  His widow, Mildred lived in Michigan,
November 1995.  

When Arthur was about 18 months old, Amos took him and raised him until
Amos' death.  After Amos died, his daughter Dolly Stamper Hawthorne took
Arthur in and sent him to school at Berea College which at that time was
both grade school and high school.  He started  school at about age 18
and graduated about 1928, from the school's  accounting program.

textile weaving.  He was a  member of Arcadia First Baptist Church. 
Granville, age 61, died December 28, 1965, of myocardial infraction, Mary
Black Hospital, Sparatanburg, Sparatanburg County, South Carolina, and is

Grandville went to live with an older sister in Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio, after his mothers death.  As a youngster, he went to the
Textile Industrial Institute in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he
worked part time and went to school part time. Grandville had a beautiful
voice and directed the church choir.  It was at the Saxon Baptist Church
that he met his future wife, Margaret Judith Foster, a native of
Spartanburg, South Carolina.  After marrying, they moved to North
Carolina where their first child was born and later returned to
Spartanburg where two more children were born.  Granville's statistics

Kentucky, daughter of Amos and  Mary Abigail (Buckler) Stamper.  Mary
Jane was a former employee of  Mitchell Lace Company, Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church..  Mary Jane
first married Sebert Spaulding, who is buried in  Greenlawn Cemetery,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, according to her second husband, Harry
Albert July.  No children were born to this union which ended in divorce.

Harry Albert July was born September 23, 1911, Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio, son of  Albon Morris and Jennie (Argerbright) July.  Harry was a
member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and James
Dickey Post American Legion.  Harry was owner and operator of July Sign
Business until he retired.   He served  in the U.S. Army during WW II. 
Harry died at age 85 on June 17, 1997, of acute myocardial infraction due
to pneumonia, Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio.  He was buried June 20, 1997, in the Greenlawn Cemetery,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. At time of death, Harry had three
grandchildren and seven  great-grandchildren.  Harry provided his
statistics in 1996, followed later by his death certificate and obituary.

County, Kentucky, son of Amos and Mary Abagail. Buckler Stamper.  Walter,
24 year old shoe lace worker, married  June  20, 1935, Scioto County,
Ohio, to Dorothy Elizabeth Adams, age 20.  Four children were born to
this union.. Walter retired as a job setter for an appliance factory. 
Walter, age 83, died at home February 8, 1994, of cardiomyopathy due to
cardiovascular disease, Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio.  Walter is

Dorothy Elizabeth Adams was born November  9, 1914, Portsmouth, Scioto

due to a long Q-T syndrome, Waynesville, Ohio.

Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  She was buried under Grace L.
McClanahan  December 6, 1973, Methodist Cemetery on Route 8, West Quincy,

Kathleen Stamper was born August 18, 1917, South Portsmouth, Greenup
County, Kentucky, daughter of  Amos  and  Grace Leona (Kidd) Lancaster. 
Kathleen married April 20, 1935, Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky, to
Clinton Delmar Hudson.  Two children were born to this union.  Kathleen
was a member of the First United Methodist Church and it's Crusader
Class.  Kathleen died at age 74 on January 3, 1992, of chronic
peritonitis and partial intestinal obstruction, Jewish Hospital,
Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.  She is buried in the Memorial Burial
Park, Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio.  Kathleen's statistics are from

Clinton Delmar Hudson was born July 25, 1906, in Ohio, son of Albert F.
and Nora E. (Shoemaker) Hudson.  Delmar retired from the Norfolk and

28, 1979, of congestive heart failure due to coronary arteriosclerosis,

OTTO  L. STAMPER, son of Amos and Grace (Kidd) Lancaster Stamper, married

Lorraine H. Howard, age 23.  At the time of this marriage, Otto was in
the U. S. Navy, WW II.  Six children were born to this union according to
Otto's niece, Evelyn Vice.  Otto was a member of  the United Methodist
Church and retired as a painter from the Loft Painting Company, and was a
member of the International brotherhood of painters and Allied
Tradesmen..  A 74 year old widower, Otto died  September 23, 1993, of
chronic obstruction disease with pneumonia due to arteriosclerotic heart
disease and sub- endiocardio infarction due to adult respiratory distress
syndrome and hypertension.  Other conditions were dementia secondary to
ethanol abuse and degenerative joint disease, Chillicothe VA Hospital,
Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.  He was buried September  25, Memorial

Douglas Stamper was born January 14, 1953, Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio.   Douglas married Cheryl Burton.  He married Cheryl Burton,
daughter of Harold E, and Geraldine (Stanley) Burton.   One daughter was
born to this marriage which ended in tragedy.  A disabled boulermaker,
Douglas died age 40 on July 24, 1993,  Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio,
at home of a sel inflicted gunshot wound to his head, after killing his
12 year old daughter.  He was  cremated and the location of his ashes
given to family member is unknown.  Douglas's statistics are from his
death certificate, a news article and his daughter's obituary.

CHILD OF DOUGLAS AND CHERYL (BURTON) STAMPER
ALISHA STAMPER was born October  4, 1980, Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Alisha died at age 12 on July 24,
1993, in Grant Hospital, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, of gunshot
wound.  She is buried in the  Bennett Cemetery. probably in Scioto
County, Ohio.

Their witnesses were Joseph Stamper and Ethel Stallard. It is believe
that only one son was born to this union.  Amos, age 86, 
died March 25, 1957, of cardiac heart failure, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  Amos , a show worker, retired in 1935.  Amos' obituary puts
his place of death in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, vice Carter County
in his death certificate.  Amos was buried  March 28, 1957, Bethel

Ina Myrtle (Phillips) Stallard was born June 23, 1886, Olive Hill, Carter
County, Kentucky, daughter of Joseph and Amelia Duncan Phillips.  Ina,

Oertel's Corner, of cardiac failure due to a cerebral hemorrhage.  She
was buried April 11, Bennett's Cemetery, Minford, Scioto County, Ohio.
 
Ina was previously married to  Rev. Stephen Stallard who died in 1921.
This may have been her second marriage as Louise Stamper Eliasson,
decendant of Amos Stamper, carries her as Ina Hartly in their family

RALPH STAMPER was  born March 9, 1926, Carter County, Kentucky.  Ralph,
who never married, died at age 60 at home November 13, 1986, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky,  of infantile paralysis.  Ralph was a member of
the Smokey Valley Baptist Church.   He was buried November 15, 1986,
Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.   Ralph's

Remark: Ralph is known to be the child of Amos and Ina, however the
following children mentioned in Ina's obituary are believed to be from

Fatima was age 6 and 46 in the 1880 and 1920 Carter County, Kentucky,
Census.  Fatima married June 23, 1897, Carter County, Kentucky, to Asa
Dailey Junior.  Their witnesses were  C.W. Stamper and G.W. Mawny.  At
least eight children were born to this union.  Fatima died February 5,
1924, probably Carter County, Kentucky.  She is buried Dailey-Burchett
Cemetery on Blueberry Ridge, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.

Lonnie Gabe Easterling was born June 6, 1924 Carter County, Kentucky, son
of  Fairlena Dailey and Joseph Gabrilee Easterling.  Lonnie married Freda
C. Bailey.  At list three children were born to this union.   Lonnie was
a retired was a quality-control supervisor for  Metal Forge, Columbus,
Ohio.    Ronnie died at age 72 on April 12, 1997, Our Lady of Bellefonte
Hospital, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  He is buried in lot 191, block
D. units 3 & 4 of the Olive Hill Memorial Cemetery, Carter County,
Kentucky.  His spouse, Freda, survives.  Lonnie's statistics are from his
obituary and funeral home marker.  
 
Lonnie reached the rank of Staff Sergeant in combat infantry while
serving his county in the U. S. Army during WW II.  His military service
took him to battles and campaigns in Rome and Italy, Southern France,
Rineland and Central Europe.  Lonnie was wounded twice, first on May 23,
1944, during the Angio beach head, Italy,  and the second time on October
6, 1944, during the invasion of France.  He was awarded the European
African and Middle Eastern ribbons with 4 Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart
with an Oak Leaf cluster, the Distinguished Unit Medal and the WW II
Victory Medal.  Lonnie was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945,
Fort Knox, Kentucky

in death. At time of her death, Fairlena had 17 grandchildren, 22

Fatima Stamper and  Asa Dailey.  David was age 16 in the 1920 Carter
County, Kentucky Census.  David married January 30, 1928, Carter County,
Kentucky, to divorcee, Lottie Tackett Knipp. Their witnesses were were
G.W. Henderson and Asa Dailey.  At least three children were born to this
union, which ended in divorce some time after 1928.  No spouse was
mentioned in David's obituary.  David's death information will follow his

Lottie Tackett was  born in 1911, Carter County, Kentucky, daughter of

Denvil Dailey was born July 3, 1928, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky,
son of David and Lottie Tackett Dailey.  Denvil married Minnie Virginia
Dempsey.  At least four children born to this union.  Denvil retired from
 Dehart Coal, Verner, W.est Virginia, and his own company, the at a coal
miner and owner of H.M.N.S. Coal Company.  He was a member of the Taplin
Freewill Baptist Church and the united Mine Workers of America.  Denvil
died at age 61 on August 9, 1989, Mann Appalachian Regional Hospital,
West Virginia.  He is buried in the Dailey-Burchett Cemetery, near Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  His spouse survives.  At ime of death,
denvil had four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Devil's
statistics are from his obituary and monument. .

Denvil's obituary also mentions siblings: Helen Whiteman of Morehead,
Ky., Maxine Knipp of Soldier, Ky., Billy Joe Fannin of Dayton, Oh.,

carbon monoxide poisoning, P'simer Hill, Carter County, Kentucky,  with a

lived in  Fairborn, Ohio on August 11, 1989.  A Miss  Delphy Dailey is
mentioned but no Dorothy is mentioned in her dad's obituary whereas only
Dorothy is mentioned in siblings, Ray and Denvil's obituaries indicating
Delphy and Dorothy are one and the same.

Charles E. Dailey was born February 22, 1906, Carter County, Kentucky,
son of Fatima Stamper and Asa Dailey.   Charles served in the U.S. Navy
during WW II and later worked as a watchmaker.  Charles married Elpha May
Wilburn, July 1,1904, and died in 1980.
At least four children were born to this union.  Charles E., age 82, died
April 1, 1988,  VA  Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Charles
and Elpha are buried in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery, Carter County,

least two children were born to this union.  Arthur operated jewelry
shops in Olive Hill and Grayson in Carter County, Kentucky.  Arthur died
at age 65 on April 27, 1990, at home Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.
  He is buried in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky. 
His widow, Nellie, born April 21, 1924, survives.  Arthur's statistics

Myrtle Avis Adkins Burchett was born June  20, 1920, West Virginia,
daughter of Martin and Molly (Stratton) Adkins. Myrtle was a member of
the Methodist Church.  Myrtle died at age 55 on December 28, 1975,  Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, and is buried in the Dailey-Burchett
Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky..

24, 1934, Carter County, Kentucky, to Avis Burchett.  Their witnesses
were Violet Burchett and Earl Knipp.  At least three children were born
to this union.  Wylie was the owner/operator of the  Dailey Grocery
Store, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  Wylie, age 79,  died June
17,1992, Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio. Wylie is

daughter of Arron Jefferson and Lillie (Boggs) Burchett.   Avis was a
member of the Central Church of Christ in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio
and she attended the gallipolis Christian Church.  Avis, age 83, died
February 9, 1998, Holzer Senior Care Center, Gallipolis, Gallia County,
Ohio.

Charles Whytt Stamper "C. D." was born November 23, 1875, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky, son of Thomas Jefferson and Martha Evelyn
(Erwin) Stamper.  Charles Whytt was listed at age 4 in the 1880 Carter
County Kentucky Census.  Charles, age 23, married April 8, 1899, Carter
County, Kentucky, to Samantha Mary Alice Miller.  Witnesses were Amos
Stamper and James Penix.  At least nine children were born to this union.
 Charles, Samantha Alice and four of their children relocated to Hammon,
Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, in 1907.  In 1919, they moved to Strong
City, Oklahoma. Charles ,a 79 year old farmer and carpenter, died January
1, 1955, of a heart attack at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Green, Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  He is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  

Samantha Mary Alice Miller was born January 26, 1881, Olive Hill, Carter
County, Kentucky,  daughter of Oliver C. and Mary  M. Holland Miller.  A
Christian, Samantha died at age 60 on November 29, 1941 of a stroke by
which she was totally paralized, at home of a daughter in Rogers Mills
County, Oklahoma.  She is buried in the 
Miller's Chapel Hill Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County,
Oklahoma,. where her parents are buried.

Miles,  Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.   Martha  married Charles Clyde
Gilbert.
OLIVER CLYDE STAMPER was born July  21 or 22, 1912, Hammon, Roger Mills
County, Oklahoma.  Oliver married Rosa Louise Bottom. 
OLGA NEVADA STAMPER was born July 3, 1916, Nine Miles, Roger Mills
County, Oklahoma.  Olga married Elmer Guinn Allen. 
VIDA GEORGIA STAMPER " Georgia Vida" was born July 2, 1920, Strong City,
Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.   Vida married twice, first to Orville
Griffey, second to Wesley White.

Thelma Esther Stamper, or Thelma Easter,  was born March 14, 1900, Olive
Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, daughter of Charles Whytt and Samantha
Mary Alice (Miller) Stamper.  Thelma married April 19, 1923,  probably in
Oklahoma, to Ernest Nolan Harrison, born November 10, 1899 Strong City,
Oklahoma, and died June 6, 1977.  At least two children were born to this
union.  Thelma died November 4, 1994, Pueblo, Colorado.

Emma  married December 31, 1921 Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, to James

Wyoming.  Emma died December 12, 1981, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Emma is
buried in the Silent Home Cemetery, Cheyenne, Rogers Mills County,
Oklahoma.

June 6, 1902.  Mary was living January 13, 1955, in  Colorado, by  
Charles' obituary.

Gordon Ulysses Stamper was born March 9, 1906, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of Charles Whytt and Samantha Mary Alice (Miller) Stamper. 
Gordon was 18 months old when his family relocated to Roger Mills,
Oklahoma.   Gordon married December25, 1936, Hammon, Oklahoma, to  Ethel
Mae Pitcock or Pittock, born January 20, 1892.  At least six children
were born to this union.  Gordon attended the primitive Baptist Church. 
Gordon died April 3, 1983, St. Anthony's Hospital, Amarilla, Texas.  He
is buried in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.  Roger was
preceded in death by his parents, two of his  children, one sister and
one brother.  His spouse, Ethel Mae was still living on April 3, 1983.

Irene Hapem and they lived in Strong City, Oklahoma in April 1983. 
HILDA LOYETTE STAMPER was born December 7, 1940.  Hilda married August 8,
1959, to Robert Leeroy Buffum, born September 28, 1938 and they lived in
America, Kansas in April 1983.
FREDDIE EUGENE STAMPER was born April 10, 1946, and married twice.  He
first married  W. Gwendlyn Walker and second to Carroll Ann Roark Dobbs,
They lived in Cheyenne in April 1983.
BILLIE RAY STAMPER was born March 12, 1950.  He married September 15,
1972, to Pamela Dianna Walker and they lived in Kingfisher in April 1983.

MILLIE KAYE STAMPER was born and died on March 12, 1950.

Strong city, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.  He is buried in the Miller
Cemetery in Strong City, Oklahoma..

Robert Henderson Stamper was born March 4, 1908, Hammon, Roger Mills
County, Oklahoma, son of Charles Whytt and Samatha Mary Alice (Miller)
Stamper.  Robert married September 21, 1929, Strong City, Rogers Mills
County, Oklahoma to Cleeta March Kepley.  One child was born to this
union.  Robert was a retired 30 year building contractor.  His daughter,
Rovena's book "Stamper Saga" tells of Robert working as a carpenter at
Camp Adair in Corvallis, Oregon, during WW II, prior to starting his own
business.  Robert relocated from Oklahoma, to Salem, Oregon, where he
lived since 1937.  He died at age 71 on July 10, 1979, in a  local
nursing home, Salem, Marion, Oregon.  Robert is buried in the Mt. Crest
Abby Mausoleum, Salem, Oregon.  

Cleeta March Kepley was born March 24, 1910, Strong City, Rogers Mills
County, Oklahoma, daughter of John H. and Josephine (Archer) Kepley.  She
died on June 13, 1991, Salem, Marion, Oregon, and is buried in the Mt.
Crest Abby Mausoleum, Salem, Oregon.

ROVENA FAYE STAMPER was born September 5, 1930, Oklahoma.  Rovena married

Rovena Faye Stamper was born September 5, 1930, Oklahoma, daughter of
Robert Henderson & Cleeta March (Kepley) Stamper.  Rovena married June
28, 1952, Crystal Lake Park Church, Milwaukie, Clackmas, Oregon, to Jack
Elton Varbel, born October 18, 1930, Salem, Oregon, son of Jess Warren
and June (Smith) Varbel.  Three children were born to this union.  Rovena
and her daughter, Kathy,  compiled a lovely book " STAMPER SAGA" which
was done in loving memory of Robert Henderson Stamper.  Much of her
line's information came from her book in which she graciously allowed
Stamper family members to copy as stated in the book's introduction. 
Rovena lived in Tangent, Oregon in 1996.

BARRY VARBEL was born January 29, 1957, Multnomah, Oregon.  Barry married
December 4, 1994, Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, to Shelley Clayton,
born March 15, 1958, Denver, Colorado, daughter of Gene and Merry (Wiley)
Clayton.
KATHLEEN MARIE VARBEL "Kathy" was born and adopted July 23, 1961,
Portland, Multnomah, Oregon.
PATRICK CLARK VARBEL was born November 24, 1962, Salem, Marion, Oregon. 
Patrick married August 14, 1982, Sweet Home, Linn, Oregon, to Kathleen
Marie Walker, born April  24, 1961, daughter of  James Bertram and Louvee

Albert Elwood Stamper was born January 17, 1876, Olive Hill Carter
County, Kentucky, son of Thomas Jefferson and Martha Evelyn (Erwin)
Stamper.  Albert was listed at age 3 in the 1880 Carter County, Kentucky
Census.  His death certificate and obituary  places him born in 1878. 
Albert, a 22, y4ear old farmer, married October 28, 1900,  Carter County,
Kentucky, to Martha Ellen Davis, age 21.  Six children were born to this
union.  Albert, age 65, died March 26, 1943, of bronchial pneumonia with
contributory cause of asthma, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky. 
Albert was buried  March 28, Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.   Albert's only siblings living at time of his death were Amos,
Charles and Julia, according to Bonnie McCoy Weirich.   The Internet's

daughter of John Q. and Lucy  Powers Davis.  Martha, age 40, died
November  4, 1921, Pleasant Valley, Carter County, Kentucky.  Bonnie
McCoy Weirich lists Martha's birth as June 15, 1882, and her death in
1920.  Martha is buried Stallard Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky. 
Martha's father, John Q. Davis was born August 6, 1800, and died in 1924,

Albert Charles Elwood and Martha Ellen Davis Stamper.  Luanna married
James Malcolm McCoy.    Luanna McCoy is listed as living in Pickerington,
Fairfield County, Ohio, February 19, 1997.  Bonnie McCoy Weirich said
Luanna lives in Columbus, Ohio, and had alzheimers disease, October16,

Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  Ruby, age 71, died  August 18, 1994, Morehead Life Care
Center, Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.  Ruby is buried Bethel

John Henry Stamper was born November  27, 1903, Carter County, Kentucky,
son of  Albert Elwood and Ellen (Davis) Stamper.  John Henry married June
9, 1936, Carter County, Kentucky, to Ethel Florence Humphries.  Witnesses
were Carl Lee Jaynes and Luanna Stamper.  At least six children were born
to this union.   John, a farmer, was a Baptist.  His home in Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky, was destroyed in an April 1986, fire. John
Henry, age 93, died at home February 12, 1997, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  He is buried Bethel Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  His
spouse, Ethel was buried February 21, 1899, bethel cemetery.  All of
John's children survive.  At time of death, John had 18 grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Florence Humphries was born August 8, 1911, Carter County,
Kentucky, daughter of John Dee and Ella May (Fultz) Humphries.  Ethel
died at age 76 on February 18, 1988. St Claire Medical Center, Morehead,
Rowan County, Kentucky. She is buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky.

Ethel's obituary and second to a Mr.  Sorrell and  lived in Flatwoods,
Kentucky, in February1997, by John Henry's obituary.  Marjorie 
Lois is the paternal grandmother of Jodi Sayene Littleton, daughter of
Tim and Shell Caudill Littleton.  Jodi Sayene Littleton died shortly
after her birth on August 10, 1985, in Lexington, Kentucky.
VIRGIL RAY  STAMPER "Birdie" was born May 18, 1945, Carter County,
Kentucky.  Virgil married September 5, 1969, to Kathy Mae Click, daughter
of William Frank and Opal Click.
JOHN HENRY  STAMPER JR.  was born January 31, 1949, Carter County,
Kentucky, and lived in Olive Hill, Kentucky, in February 1997.

Ohio, in July1965, when her father passed away.  Her mother, Martha Alice
was the source for Gladys' children in 1995.

Albert Charles Stamper was born October 22, 1908, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of Albert Elwood and Ellen (Davis) Stamper.  Albert married
under Charles  January 6, 1932, Counts Cross Roads, Carter County,
Kentucky, to Virgie Cloring Haney.  Witnesses were r. Stamper and Ray
Damron.  One child was born to this union. A retired farmer, Albert
Charles, age 88, died at home May 3, 1997, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  He was buried May 5, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky.  At time of death, Charles had 5 grandchildren,
13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great children 

Virgie Cloring Haney was born February 24, 1911, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of Mose and Ella (Mennix) Haney.  Virgie, age 66, died at home
May 11, 1977, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  She is buried
Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  Vergie'
sister, Hazel Haney, is married to  Everett Stamper, also of the Thomas
Jefferson line.

ANNA LEE STAMPER married a Mr. Rogers and lived in Muncie, Indiana, on
May 12.1997.  Anna Stamper Rogers has five children according to her

Wilburn Stamper was born June 3, 1913, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky, son of Albert Elwood and Ellen Davis Stamper.  Wilburn, age 30,
married January 20, 1951, Greenup County, Kentucky, to Bonnie James, age
21.  At least ten children were born to this union.  Wilburn retired from
the  Erie Railroad Conrail, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  He is a
member of the Duck Run Baptist Church. Wilburn , age 86, was living in
Lucasville, Scioto County, Ohio, November 19, 1998.   His monument with
his birth date is already erected in the Hager Cemetery, Lucasville,
Ohio.  

Bonnie James was born about 1930, Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio,
daughter of .
Jonah and Daisy (Buckler) James.  Bonnie has no middle name and was
living as of November 
6, 1997.

WILBURN STAMPER JR. was born August 12, 1952, Scioto County, Ohio.  
Wilburn Jr., a Baptist,  married Connie Gordon, who was living as of
October16, 1975.  No children were born to this union.  He was an
employee as a carpenter for the S & W. Cement Company, Dayton, Montgomery
County, Ohio. Wilburn died at age 23 on October 15, 1975, at a
construction site, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Wilburn is buried
in the Hager Cemetery, Lucasville, Scioto County, Ohio.
SANDRA STAMPER lived at home in Lucasville, Ohio, on October 16, 1975. 
DAVID STAMPER was born July 20, 1957, Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto
Count, Ohio. David married at age 20 on June 12, 1976, Portsmouth, Scioto
County, Ohio, to Connie Sue Allen, born December 7, 1957, Portsmouth,
Scioto County, Ohio, daughter of Marvin Gale and Marie Marjorie (Salers)
Allen. They lived in Minford, Ohio, on October 16, 1975 and have five
children.                      
ROXANN STAMPER was born August 8, 1959, Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth ,
Scioto County, Ohio, by her birth certificate.  Roxann was not mentioned
as a survivor in her brother, Wilburn's obituary. 
CONNIE SUE STAMPER was born January 15, 1962,  Portsmouth, Scioto County,
Ohio. Connie died at age 4 pn June 15, 1966, of leukemia and lung
disease,  Scioto Memorial Hospital, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. 
Connie is buried in the Lucasville Cemetery, Lucasville, Scioto County,
Ohio.   
ROBERT MILTON STAMPER was born February 17, 1963, Mercy Hospital,
Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, and lived in Lucasville, Ohio on October
16, 1975. 
TERESA LYNN STAMPER was born April 16, 1964, Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth,
Scioto County, Ohio, and lived Lucasville, Ohio on October 16, 1975.

to .Katy Tabor, age 18, born about 1920, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of F. and Ellen Back Tabor.  They lived in Mansfield, Ohio,

Julia Ann Jordan "Julie" was born September 14, 1879, Carter County,
Kentucky, daughter of Thomas Jefferson and  Martha Evelyn (Erwin)
Stamper.  Julia married on September 26, 1897, Carter County, Kentucky,
to John Jordan.  Witnesses were Elmer Dailey and Melvin Erwin.. At least
thirteen children were born to this union.  Julia , age 90, died  April
28, 1970, of cardiac arrest due to coronary arterial vascular sclerosis
at the home of her son, Burrell Jordan, at Upper Tygart in Olive Hill,
Carter County, Kentucky.  She was buried May 1, Bethel Cemetery, Carter

John Jordan was born September 14, 1873, Lawrence County, Kentucky, son
of  Burrell and Eliza Louisa (Coburn) Jordan.  John, age 83, died at home
July 13, 1956, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  He is buried Bethel
Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  John's dad was in Company O, 20th
Kentucky Infantry as listed on his monument.  His mother was born April
15, 1851, and died October 13, 1907.  John's parents are buried in the

Myrell  married twice, first to  George Davis, as listed in Covie's
obituary.  James Stamper said one child, George Davis Jr., was born to
this union.   Myrell married a second time to Danny Lenwell and they

Green, a 30 year old widower, born about 1892, Elliott County, Kentucky,
son of  James H. and  Sina (Lyons) Green.   Descendant, James Stamper,
said Myrtle and Robert had two children.

Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, to Effie Belle Humphries, born August 5,
1904, Carter County, Kentucky.  Nine children were born to this union. 
Clyde, age  53, died  June 28, 1955, in auto accident when a car he was
riding in crashed into truck bed, Ironton, Ohio.  He is buried Bethel

daughter of John Dee and Ella May  Fultz Humohries.  Effie was a member

Eliza Jordan "Liza" was born December 5, 1903, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky, daughter of Julia Ann Stamper and John Jordan.  Eliza attended
the First Christian Church.
Eliza married twice. Her first marriage was to P. R. Driscoll, according
to James Stamper.  Eliza Jordan Driscoll married the second time March
20, 1926, Carter County, Ohio, to Asa Dailey.  Their witnesses were John
Jordan and Julia Jordan.  Eliza Jordan Driscoll Dailey  married a third
time to Robert Holbrook.  Witnesses were Harlan Proctor and Vada
Harries..  Eliza was the mother of at least three children, however, but
by which spouse is unknown.  Eliza, age 93, died at home January 30,
1997, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, at which time she had 3
grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  She is buried 
Burchett-Dailey Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.   Sources:

Covie Jordan was born February 12, 1910, Carter County, Kentucky, son of
Julia Ann Stamper and John Jordan.  Covie married Eva Pearl Brinegar.
Fifteen children were born to this union.  Covie retired from the
Harverst and Walker Brickyard.  He was a member of the Freewill Baptist
Church.  He died at age 88 on February 18, 1998, in  King's Daughter's
Medical Center, Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.  Covie is buried in the
Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.  At death, Covie
had 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild. 

Eva Pearl Brinegar was born May 17, 1919, Carter County, Kentucky,
daughter of G. W. and Phebie Brinegar.  Eva died at age 59 on November 4,
1978, in the St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.
 She is buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter County,
Kentucky.  At death, she had 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
