Washington Stamper "Wash" was born January 13, 1837, Olive Hill, Carter
County  Kentucky, son of James W."John" and Sarah (Stamper) Stamper.
Washington is age 13 and 22 in the 1850 and 1860 Carter County Kentucky
Census.  Washington married three times, the first time about 1867 or
1868, to a Margret "Peggy" (maiden unknown).   Rom Holbrook list this
marriage in 1867, Letcher County, Kentucky, while Bonnie Tabor Carver
carries him married in 1879.  After marrying, Washington was listed in
the 1870 and 1900 Carter County, Kentucky census at age 33 and 63.

Moses Green Stamper was born April 1870 or 1872, Carter County, Kentucky,
son of Washington and Margret Stamper.  Moses was 3 months old in the
1870 Carter County Kentucky Census.  Moses Green married July 15,1896, at
Green Stamper's house, Carter County, Kentucky, to Nettie J. Pitts. Their
witnesses were William and Melissa Pitts.  Moses also appears at age 40
in the 1910   Carter County Censusin which he is married 15 years with 7
children, 6 living.  Moses died in 1928 and is buried on ridge on Fannin

Netta J. Pitts "Nettie" was born in 1878, daughter of Alfred and Melissa
Vaughn Pitts.
Netta was age 32 in the 1910 Carter County Kentucky Census. Netta died in

Martha A. Stamper was born September 22,1883, Firebrick, Carter County,
Kentucky, Washington and Christina Riley Stamper.  She was age 16 in the
1900 Kentucky Census.  Martha, age 24, married May13,1908, Carter County,
Kentucky, to Thomas T. Thomas, age 33.  Their  witnesses were  John L.
Stamper and Christina Stamper.  Martha, age 40, died November 9, 1923, of
an acute dilation of the heart, Athens State Hospital, Athens County,
Athens, Ohio.   Edna Stamper Smith said Martha was buried Firebrick
Cemetery, Firebrick, Lewis County, Kentucky, beside baby Pearl, however,
her death certificate lists her buried  November 11, Portsmouth, Scioto

Thomas F.T. Thomas "Tom" was born April 28,1875, Elliottsville, Rowan
County, Kentucky, son of James Edward and Maude  Wilburn  "Mandy" Thomas.
Thomas was a Corporal, Company L., 4th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry.
Spanish American War (7/17/98-2/11/99). Thomas was a retired shoe worker
from Shoe Company.  At age 88, Thomas died August31,1963, of
arteriosclerotic hypertensive heart due to disease and congestive heart
failure plus carcinoma of prostate, VA Hospital, Cleveland, Cuyahoga
County, Ohio.  He is buried Woodland Cemetery, Vanceburg, Lewis County,

coronary occlusion, Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky.  He is buried
Woodland Cemetery, Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky.   Although Oscar
never married, he and Martha Switzer had the child, Jackie Thomas, born
September 12, 1954, Kentucky, and died October11, 1954, of pneumonia,

Gordon was an employee for Mansfield's Board of Education.  He had served
in the U.S. Army, WW II.  Gordon had lived in the Mansfield area for 30
years and was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.  At age 49, he
died April 11,1977, General Hospital, Mansfield, Ohio.  Gordon is buried
Mansfield Memorial Cemetery, Mansfield, Oh.io.

24,  and Cynthia married 3 years with 2 children, one living.  This union

September 1931, Lillian Opal suffered a fractured collarbone and possible
internal injuries, lacerations and contusions of her head and face, in
the same auto accident that killed her sister, Goldie Stamper age 14.

in the 1920 Kentucky Census.  Effie married June 29,1937, Catlettsburg,
Boyd County, Kentucky, to Merle Edwin Lavengood.  
At age 40, Effie  died at home January14,1958,of carcinomatosis due to
carcinoma of right breast, Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.  She was
buried January 16, Memorial Burial Park Cemetery, Wheelersburg, Scioto

time at age 55 February 3,1945, Russell, Greenup County, Kentucky, to
Dora Mae Frazier McGlone.  No children were born to this union.  Charles,
age 98, died September 26,1988, of pulmonary edema due to a fall,
Alexandria Convalescent Center, Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.  He
was buried September 30, Squire - McGlone Cemetery, McGlone Creek, on
Route 2 between Carter City and Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.

Martha Fannin Frazier. Dora, age 85, died April 1973,at the home of her

McGlone Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.  Dora Mae was previously
married to Benjamin Franklin McGlone who died in 1932.  Dora's McGlone

Bessie Cassity Wolford McCormick.  Their witnesses were Opal and Edward
Lewis.  James and Minnie livrd in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky,
July 16, 1996.  Minnie is listed as a survivor in the February 3, 1999,
