324 This deed this day made by and between John N. Ross and Nancy Ross, his wife, parties of the first part and James W. Scott, party of the second part all of Carter County and State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars in hand Juaid(?) or secured the parties of the first part was sold unto the party of the second part and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Big Sinking and ounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at three small black oaks on the north side of the County Road, corner to 102 acre tract of J. M. Taber, with same S 70 1/2 E 123 poles to a stake in D. Jesse Caudle tract & with a line there of N 23 E 226 poles to 3 hickories, black oak & dogwood, thence birding(?) on Greenhills land N 70 W 82 poles to 2 black oak bushes S 42 W 95 poles to a black oak tree & black locust and maple bushes S 19 W 115 poles to a white oak S 27 W 16 1/2 to the beginning, containing one hundred and twenty three acres by survey to have and to hold the above described tract of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. The parties of the first part warranting and defending the title of said tract of land unto the party of the second part and his heirs against the claims of all persons or titles whatever. In testimony where of the said party of the first part have here unto set their hands and seal this 20th day of July 1875 in the year of our lord one thousand and eight-hundred and seventy five.
