				Record of Commissioner's Deeds

This indenture made and entered into this the 14th day of May 1898, by and between J. J. Ross 
and Alice Ros, his wife, of the County of Elliott and the state of Kentucky, parties of the first 
part and A. W. Kozee of the County of Carter and state aforesaid, of the second part, witnesseth 
that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and sixty eight dollars in hand paid, 
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties of the first part have this day bargained 
and sold and by these presents does hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part, 
his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the 
County of Carter and State of Kentucky, on the waters of Tygarts and Big Sinking Creeks, and bounded 
as follows: Beginning on Three Pines Corner to John Carpenter line, thense with Carpenter's line S 10 W 84 
poles to a hickory and gum by a small branch, same course, one pole to a stake N 62 1/2  E 98 poles to a 
stake by a will in A. F. Ross' line S 75 E 20 poles to a stake in the lane, thense with the county 
road N 19 1/2 E 40 3/4poles to R. F. Ross' line, N 42 W 58 poles to a stake in the road, N 55 W 12 poles 
to a stake in the road, N 35 W 20 poles to George R. Ross' corner, S 47 W 82 poles to

Carpenters corner, S 70 1/2 E 16 poles to the beginning, containing by survey 
fifty seven and one half acres, to have and to hold said tract of land, with all 
apputenances, there-unto belonging unto said party of the second part, his heirs 
and assigns, with covenant vof warranty against ourselves and heirs only and none 
others, given under our hands and seals the day and year first above written.

W. M. Mocabee, Clerk of the County Court within and for the county and state aforesiad, 
do hereby certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from J. J. Ross and Alice Ross, 
his wife, to A. W. Kozee, was on the 14th day of May 1898, produced to me in my county 
and acknowledged by the grantors, J. J. Ross and Alice Ross to be their act and deed. 
Whereupon the same together with this certificate, have been duly recorded in my office,
