Reuben Truman Ross moved from Carter County, Kentucky in the 1850's and was in Wilson Co. Kansas by the 1860's.
Reuben died in 1868 and is buried in Ross Cemetery in Wilson Co.. His wife Rebecca survived him by many years
and her children remained on the family farm as adults.
Reuben and his family are listed next to the John Nelson Ross family on the 1850 Carter County census.
Late in life, Rebecca sent a tin type photo of herself to John Nelson Ross' son, Reuben Fletcher Ross.
Rebecca Ross' photo has been kept in a photo album that has been in our family for almost 100 years.
