Section I
Percival (Percy) was born in Carter County, Kentucky, about 1832. It is our belief that Percival was Theodore Percival who was born on November 22, 1831, in Carter County and then went to Arkansas. There he was conscripted into "G" Company of the 3rd. Arkansas Voluntary Calvary of the Confederacy. This is based on the file of Minerva (his wife) from the National Archives. According to this record, they were married on July 15, 1855, and neither had been married before. The marriage occurred in Conway County, Arkansas, at the home of A.G. Ingram. Percy was 5 foot 5 inches tall, of fair complexion, with gray eyes and light hair. They had several children, one of whom was Florence, born September 10, 1872, who married a Gepner. Minerva tried to claim veteran’s benefits but J.J. Jones, M.D., of Conway Station, Arkansas, claimed the filed affidavit was a "complete forgery . . . he deserves a pension as much as my shepherd dog and yours." M.C. Davis, a special examiner for the government in 1891, stated that, "Dr. Jones bears a good reputation but he is called a bit eccentric. He is also strongly opposed to pensioning Yankees." Minerva was born on April 4, 1835 at Athens, Ohio, and died August 4, 1920, at Enola, Arkansas. Percy died on September 29, 1913.
The Federal Census of Conway County, Arkansas of 1866 lists a William McGlone with a wife Minerva and three children: Lucinda R. born in 1857 in Arkansas, William H. born in 1859 in Arkansas, and Florence born in 1962 in Arkansas. We believe that William was Percy and had changed his name for some unknown reason, maybe because he was a "Yankee."

Jacob Oscar was born in 1840 in Kentucky and married Evaline Parker on March 9, 1867 in Lewis County, Kentucky. They had one son, Lewis, who was born in 1872, and had one daughter who had no children.
Jacob was a farmer and his marriage bond was recorded on January 8, 1867. He was a private in the 22nd. Voluntary Infantry in the Civil War, Union Army. He joined on December 23 1861, and deserted at once. On February 28, 1862, he was found sick at home and in April, 1862, he was considered AWOL. He was mustered out of the service in January, 1865, in Louisville because he deserted.
