James was born in either Fleming or Greenup County, Kentucky, and died at McGlone Creek. Elizabeth was born on January 18, 1807, in North Carolina and died on October 9, 1888. James and Elizabeth are buried at the McGlone Creek Cemetery. They had 8 children.
- Edith (Eady) was born on October 5, 1835, in Greenup County and died on July 28, 1909, at McGlone Creek. She married William A. Kibbey on November 1, 1860.
- Owen was born on January 3, 1837, and died on October 5, 1851.

- Thomas Perry will be discussed in Section III.
- James Marion will be discussed in Section IV.
- Mary Jane (Polly) was born on October 13, 1847, in Carter County, Kentucky, and died on March 6, 1925, in Newton County, New York. She married John Mardhall Hartley on March 6, 1877.
- William Ambrose was born on March 13, 1854, and died on March 14, 1869. He was buried at the McGlone Creek Cemetery.

Section I
Ezekiel was born on September 28, 1838, in Carter County, Kentucky, and died on February 1, 1923, in Carter County. He married Joannah (Hannah) Stamper on March 17, 1867, in Carter County. She was born on May 15, 1844, and died on August 4, 1924. Ezekiel is buried at the Gold Kiser Cemetery near the mouth of Brushy Creek, which is close to McGlone Creek. They had 4 children:
- Amos was born on January 26, 1868, and died on June 30, 1869. He died of cholera and is buried at McGlone Creek.
- James Elmer will be discussed in Section V.
- Owen was born on October 4, 1874, and died on January 28, 1941, in Marshall, Texas. He was married in 1924 in Texas and had no children.
- William Green will be discussed in Section VI.

Section II
Sanford Jackson was born on August 17, 1840, and died on April 7, 1908. He married Parthena Jane Duncan on January 17, 1866. she was born on September 13, 1844, and died on August 26, 1913, in Carter County, Kentucky. Both Sanford and Parthena are buried at McGlone Creek. They had 12 children:
- Mary Alice was born on September 27, 1866, and died on September 17, 1948. She was never married and is buried at the Waring Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.
- Laura L. was born on November 13, 1867, and died on April 21, 1896. She never married and is buried at McGlone Creek.
- Willard Thomas will be discussed in Section VII.
- Arminta Elizabeth was born on February 24, 1870, in Kentucky and died on November 4, 1952. She married Grant Evans.
- Jael Blanche was born on December 10, 1871, at McGlone Creek and died on January 23, 1951. She married Jefferson Fannin on November 25, 1922. She was buried at the Waring Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.

- Eda (Eddie) Florence was born on December 25, 1874, and died in Ohio on January 3, 1927. She married Sherman Evans.
- Effie Mae was born on April 20, 1876, and died on August 1, 1931, in Carmel, California. She married Willard Sellars on May 17, 1912.

Section III
Thomas Perry was born on March 20, 1842, in Carter County, Kentucky, and died on September 28, 1903. He married Sarah Ann Staggs on November 15, 1866, in Clarksburg, Kentucky. Sarah was born on March 19, 1843, and died on March 26, 1934. Thomas was a corporal in the 40th. Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War and we are showing a picture of him in his uniform. He was mustered in on September 25, 1863, and out on December 30, 1864, at Cattlesburg, Kentucky. He was last paid on June 30, 1864, at $6.00 and a transportation allowance of $3.17 by the government. Some say he got rheumatism from marching and camping in the rain and snow without a tent. A Doctor Ferguson said he had cancer of the stomach which killed him. Both Thomas and Sarah are buried at McGlone Creek. They had 11 children:

- Minnie was born on March 13, 1874, in Kentucky and died on May 2, 1934. She married James W. Fraser on May 5, 1897.
- Elizabeth was born on October 29, 1875, and died on May 21, 1960, in Scioto, Ohio. She married Jasper Colburn on November 17, 1893.
- Myrtie was born on February 10, 1878 (9), and died on November 22, 1922, in Lewis County, Kentucky. She married Sylvester "Coon" Stone.
- Farris will be discussed in Section XVII.
- Finlay was born on January 4, 1880, and died on April 17, 1888. He was a twin of Farris.
- Parthenia was born on November 1, 1882, in Carter County and died on May 30, 1970, in Ashland, Kentucky. She married Herbert Stallard on December 25, 1909.

Section IV
James Marion was born on December 26, 1845, in Carter County, Kentucky, and died on June 18, 1924, in Carter County. He married Mary Ann Hilger on December 14, 1877, in Lewis County, Kentucky. Mary Ann was born on July 26, 1855, in Ohio and died on August 2, 1921. James and Mary are buried at McGlone Creek. They had 10 children:
- Elizabeth will be discussed in Chapter V as she married a McGlone.
- Sarah was born in 1878 in Kentucky.
- Samuel Frederick will be discussed in Section IX.
- James Valentine will be discussed in Section XX.
- Harrie was born on January 4, 1887, and died on July 17, 1926. She married Robert Mullins on April 8, 1914. They had at least 3 sons.
- Emma was born on March 6, 1889, and married John Kimbler on September 6, 1924. Emma has a daughter Katherine Lust, who lives in Portsmouth, Ohio.
- Tessie Leora will be discussed in Chapter V.
- Ida Florence was born on January 28, 1893, and died on May 20, 1970, in Scioto, Ohio. She married John Perry on October 30, 1912.
- Ruth married Elmer McCormick and they live in Carter County.

Section V
James Elmer was the son of Ezekiel. He was born in 1870 and married Pearlie A. Duncan on January 13, 1892. Pearlie died in 1928 in Chicago. On December 1, 1940, James married Ida Watson Wolford, James had 8 children:

- Stanley was born on April 4, 1889. He had a son, Glen A.
- Hubert (Hobart) died in 1973 in Lima, Ohio.

William Green was a son of Ezekiel and was born on November 29, 1876, in Kentucky and died on June 9, 1955, in Kentucky. He married Margaret Doad Kiser on October 15, 1902. Margaret was born on November 21, 1886, and died in 1957. They had 12 children:

- Hazel was born on November 27, 1906, and married Chester McGinnis in Flint, Michigan.
- Eva was born on April 19, 1908, and married Frank McGinnis.
- Lottie was born on December 18, 1909, and married Roy Burge in 1929.
- James Harvey was born on June 10, 1911, in Carter County. He married Norma Fern Roe on August 30, 1945. He is now a minister.
- Mae was born on November 7, 1915, and died in 1955. She married Sherman Morgan and later a Kiser.
- Maria was born on April 3, 1917.
- Clarence was born on January 2, 1919, and married Mary Collett in Georgia.
- Beatrice was born on November 8, 1920, and died on September 19, 1922.
- Prudie was born on September 22, 1922, in Carter County and married Dennis Holbrook in Flint, Michigan.
- Bessie was born on October 10. 1924, in Carter County and died on November 8, 1965, in Flint. She married Herb Akins.
- Virginia was born on December 18, 1926, in Carter County and married Cecil Burton and later a Humphries.

Section VII
Willard Thomas was the son of Sanford Jackson and was born on December 5, 1868, and died on April 18, 1935, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Hamm in 1894. Elizabeth was born on June 17, 1875, and died on January 9, 1953, in Morehead, Kentucky. They had 4 children:
- Ethel was born on March 24, 1895, in Carter County and died on February 16, 1923, in Louisville, Kentucky. She married Clyde N. Thompson in 1916.
- Clyde was born on June 3, 1896, and died on July 30, 1896.
- Olive Mae was born on May 23 1900, and died on September 23, 1966. She married Dr. Forest G. Henderschott in Boyd County, Kentucky.
- Bruce was born on June 29, 1902, in Morgan County, Kentucky, and died on June 30, 1948, in Boise, Idaho. He married Grace Hudgins and they had 10 children. One of his daughters was adopted by his sister Olive Mae.

Section VIII
Ely Quentin was the son of Sanford Jackson and was born on May 11, 1873, and died on September 26, 1956. He married Ada Dysard who was born in 1882 and died in 1948. Ada was the sister of Naomi, Roscoe’s wife (Section XI). Ely and Ada are buried in the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky. They had 1 son:
- Ormand Quentin was born in 1904 and died in 1965.

Section IX
James Ellsworth was the son of Sanford Jackson and was born on October 14, 1878, and died on August 21, 1964. He is buried in Grayson, Kentucky. He married Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) Worthington on May 13, 1906. Sally was born on December 10, 1882, in Liberty, Kentucky, and died on December 12, 1969. They had 7 children:
- Grace L. was born on August 24, 1907, and married Gray Wylie.
- Edith was born on November 16, 1909, and died in 1910.
- Mallie was born on January 10, 1911, and died in August 1911.
- Clarence E. was born on August 17, 1912, in Carter County and died in November, 1969, in Tampa, Florida.
- Willard H. was born on October 16, 1914, and died on January 2, 1915.
- Lena was born on July 15, 1916, and died in August, 1916.
- Sanford Jackson was born on November 27, 1919, and died on November 26, 1943. He never married.

Section X
Bennett F. was a son of Sanford Jackson and was born on March 13, 1880, and died on July 18, 1932. He is buried at McGlone Creek. He married Dora Mae Frazier on April 8, 1908, or 1910, in Carter County. Dora was born on April 9, 1888, and died in 1973. She married Charlie Stamper after Bennett died. They had at least 4 children and possibly 6:
- Harold Frazier was born in 1913 (4) and died in 1947 in Vanada, Mississippi.
- Raymond was born on February 24, 1915, in Carter County and married Marie McGlone.
- J. Phyllis was born on May 27, 1920, in Carter County and married Raymond Flannigan on December 24, 1938, in Lewis County, Kentucky. They now live in New Richmond, Ohio.
- Willard Bennett was born on April 9, 1922, in Carter County and married Anna Kilgore on July 27, 1940.

Section XI
Roscoe Hubert was a son of Sanford Jackson and was born on October 14, 1883, and died on June 19, 1976, and is buried in Flint, Michigan. He married Achsah Lenora Crawford on July 9, 1902 (4). She was born on December 1, 1886, and died on October 23, 1915. She is buried at McGlone Creek. He later married Naomi Dysard in 1919. He had 6 children, two by Achsah:
- Edna Alene was born on June 10, 1905, and married Albert Halbert at Batesville, Arkansas, and lives in Topeka, Kansas.
- Paul Marvin was born on August 2, 1907, and presently lives in Detroit, Michigan. Paul was married 3 times and had 6 children.
- Rexford B. was born on October 10, 1920, in Perry County, Kentucky. He died in November 1964 in Flint.
- Annice Geraldine was born on March 4, 1922, in Perry County and married William Weine.
- William S. was born on May 7, 1925. He died in 1976 in Utica, Michigan. He married Eleanor Marks and they had 7 children.
- Ruth I. was born on December 8, 1929, and married Robert E. Riley.

Section XII
Edgar Boone was the son of Sanford Jackson and was born on February 6, 1882, in Carter County, Kentucky, and died on October 4, 1963, in Gulfport, Louisiana. He married Estella Wilson on December 23, 1905. She was born in Kentucky. Edgar Boone was written up in ARKANSAS AND ITS PEOPLE. They had two children:
- Eugene was born in 1907 and died before 1963.
- Lorraine was born on May 19, 1911, in Powell County, Kentucky.

Section XIII
Frank Layton was the son of Thomas Perry and was born on November 15, 1867 in Carter County, Kentucky. He died on June 27, 1936, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He married Nancy Jane Bloomfield on November 1, 1887, at Aberdeen, Ohio. She was born on January 14, 1867, in Lewis County, Kentucky, and died on August 14, 1941, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Frank died of a cerebral hemorrage and is buried with Nancy at Memorial Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. They had three children:
- Cecil will be discussed in Section XXIII.
- Infant was born on June 11, 1890, and died the same day. The infant was buried at McGlone Creek.
- Harley was born on April 20, 1892, in Carter County and died in Denver, Colorado. He married Frances Jones and later a Paula. It is our understanding that Frances lives in Los Angeles. His family consisted of Marvin who lives in Lucasville, Ohio, and has two daughters. Hazel Miller, who had no children; Ilene, who lives in Los Angeles and Norma Jean, who lives in South Pasadena, California.

Section XIV
James Harrison (Harry) was born on January 6, 1869, in Carter County and died on November 4, 1946, at McGlone Creek. He married Ida Jane Kibbey on June 2, 1903, in Greenup County, Kentucky. Ida was born on July 5, 1875, at McGlone Creek and died on November 16, 1958, in Ashland, Kentucky. Ida was the daughter of Eady McGlone and William Kibbey. Both Ida and Harry are buried at McGlone Creek. They had 2 children:
- Lloyd Thomas was born on June 15, 1904, at McGlone Creek and died on September 21, 1918.
- Edgar was born on April 25, 1906, in Kentucky and died in 1972. He married Estabelle Gillam and in 1954, he married Opal Easterling. He and Estabelle had two sons, Edgar Ray and James Paul.

Section XV
Charles Thomas was born on November 20, 1870, at McGlone Creek and died in 1950 in ‘wilcox, Arizona. He is buried at Douglas, Arizona. He married Molly Frazier (Mary Ruth). she was born on July 28, 1876, and died on October 26, 1911, in Wilcox. They had two children:
- Marjorie Fern who was born on November 5, 1908, in Arizona and married Lawrence J. Miller on August 4, 1926.
- Kenneth Bennett was born in 1911 in Wilcox, Arizona and did in 1976. He married Frances Elizabeth Ingall and they had 3 children. Frances was born in Michigan and their children were born in Illinois.

Section XVI
Carlos Ezekiel was born on April 4, 1872, in McGlone Creek, Kentucky, and died on April 25, 1904. He married Mary Etta McCormick on August 27, 1893, at the McGlone Creek Church. Mary was born on April 2, 1873, and died on March 10, 1934. Mary Etta married John Lewis on March 8, 1905. Carlos and Mary had two sons:
- Maurice who will be discussed in Section XXIV.
- Morton who will be discussed in Section XXV.

Section XVII
Farris, who is our father, was born on January 4, 1880, at McGlone Creek, Kentucky, and died on February 28, 1969, in Rochester, Michigan. He is buried at Grayson, Kentucky. As we said at the beginning, he is the one who should have written this book but he "never had time" because he was always busy helping someone in some other way. He married Ida Mae Keaton on June 12, 1908. Ida was born on February 9, 1882, and died on January 20, 1920. He then married Clara Alene Hendricks, our mother, on November 30, 1926. Mom was born on November 20, 1902, in Kentucky and presently lives in Rochester, Michigan. Ida Mae is buried at the Plummer Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Dad had 6 children, 3 by each wife:
- Fairy Orene was born on November 10, 1914, in Carter County and married Hascal Wilburn on September 25, 1938. They now live in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and have three children, Marietta, Keith, and Rosalie.
- Rosalie Opal was born on October 26, 1916, in Carter County. She is married to Herman "Tobe" Ferguson and lives in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She has two sons living, Eddie and Tom.
- Carlos Keaton was born on December 27, 1919, in Sciotoville, Ohio, and died on February 22, 1975, in Carter County. He was married to Bertha Irene King who now lives in Grayson. They have 4 sons and 1 daughter: Larry, Bob, Randy, Don, and Elizabeth.
- Thomas Hendricks who was born on May 31, 1928, in Grayson, Kentucky, and now lives in Rochester, Michigan. He has four sons, David, Greg, Doug and Bob.
- Mildred Avanell who was born on June 29, 1929, and died on September 19, 1929.
- Robert Ernest, who has devoted many hours to the gathering of information for this book, was born on September 12, 1935, and now lives in Florida where he is a typical university professor. Bob has two children, Kim and Chris. Bob is the baby among Thomas Perry’s grandchildren.

Section XVIII
Watt was born on April 17, 1884, and died on May 20, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio. He married Cynthia Pearl Carver on February 13, 1910. She was born on March 10, 1889, in Ohio and died on June 26, 1961. Many are the fond memories of the heaped table of food as we visited Aunt Cynthia. They had 3 children:
- Glenmore Hascal was born on January 4, 1911, at McGlone Creek and died on February 22, 1969, in California. He married Vickie Karlem on September 6, 1934, and they had a daughter, Vickie Cynthia.
- Mildred was born on May 17, 1913, and married Bruce Perry. they live in Dayton, Ohio, where Mildred carries on her mother’s tradition as a fine cook and where Bruce is most helpful with information when we visit him.
- Elroy was born on October 7, 1917, and married Mary K. Sommers on October 6, 1942. They have 4 children.

Secton XIX
Samuel Frederick was a son of James Marion and was born in Carter County on July 19, 1882. He died on December 3, 1954. He is buried at Kiser Cemetery on Brushy Creek, Carter County. He married Malissa Kiser on October 14, 1905. Malissa was born on September 18, 1888, and died on August 15, 1966. They had 10 children:
- Russell was born on November 17, 1906, and married Bernice Ash on February 8, 1929.
- Ruby was born in 1908 and married Virgil McGlone on October 16, 1930. Virgil is the great grandson of Alfred, James’ brother.
- Lena was born on June 3, 1910, and married Orville Davis on September 11, 1933.
- Herman was born on March 25, 1913, in Carter County and married Becky Morgan.
- Dorothy was born on April 14, 1915, in Carter County and married Verl Cotlagin on May 30, 1930.
- William was born on September 10, 1919, in Carter County.
- Howard was born on September 10, 1921, in Carter County.
- Luther was born on December 1923 in Carter County and married Hazel Kiser.
- Louise was born on June 14, 1928, in Carter County and married LeRoy Danner.

James Valentine was a son of James Marion and was born on November 4, 1884. He died on August 25, 1939, in Carter County, Kentucky. He married Mary Jane (Jenny) Watson on March 16, 1907. Jenny was born on April 27, 1886. They had 6 children:
- Homer was born on February 14, 1907.
- Ithel was born on December 27, 1809.
- Everett was born on June 17, 1913, and died on November 1, 1918. He is buried at McGlone Creek.
- Oma was born on October 27, 1916, and died on January 10, 1966, and is buried in Grayson, Kentucky.
- William A. was born on August 25, 1922, in Carter County and died on April 6, 1932.
- Wallace S. was born on November 13, 1924, in Carter County and died in 1931. He is buried at McGlone Creek.

Section XXI
Denver Dick was the son of James Elmer and the g.g.s. of James S. He was born on February 25, 1896, and died on May 2, 1968, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He married Elsie Dorothy Kiser on December 24, 1913. Elsie was born on January 2, 1896, and died on April 21, 1969, in the Southern Hills Hospital in Portsmouth. Dick is buried at the Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. They had 5 children:
- Eugene Raymond was born on June 16, 1915, in Carter County, Kentucky.
- Otis was born on January 23, 1918, in Carter County.
- Maxine was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and married a Bassett.
- Otto was born in Portsmouth.
- Betty M. was born on April 17, 1926, in Greenup County, Kentucky.

Section XXII
Ezekiel Raleigh was born on August 31, 1905, a few years after the 1900 limit we set, but we will mention a few things about him since we grew up with his son. He was the son of William Green and a g.g.s. of James S. He married Alice Holbrook on May 9, 1927, and Della Porter on April 3, 1943. Alice was born in 1911 and died in 1940. Della was born in 1922. By Alice, he had a son, Raleigh, Jr., who was born on August 13, 1928, in Carter County. He currently resides in Flint, Michigan.

Section XXIII
Cecil was the son of Frank Layton and the g.g.s. of James S. He was born in 1884 in Carter county and died in May 1973 in Athens, Ohio. He married Myrtle Covert on September 30, 1905, in Lewis County, Kentucky. They had 6 children:
- Earnest was born on February 7, 1907, and died at birth.
- Orin Gifford was born in 1908 and married Janice Hilsey. They currently live in Alliance, Ohio.
- Paul married Arilla Taylor and lives in Newark, Ohio.
- Edith married a Jordan and lives in Athens, Ohio.
- Charles Edward was born on September 27, 1916, in Greenup County and died in October 1973 in Athens, Ohio. He married Alice Giled.

Maurice was born on August 2, 1894, in Carter County, Kentucky, and still lives at McGlone Creek. He married Mame Kiser on January 15, 1920, and Virgie Sizemore on February 19, 1931. Mame was born on February 2, 1901, and died on April 25, 1928. Virgie was born in 1902. Maurice had 5 children:
- Carlos Ezekiel was born on April 14, 1921, in Carter County.
- Wade Glenn was born on May 22, 1923, and died on July 5, 1942.
- Ray was born on February 21, 1926, in Carter County and died on April 22, 1931.
- Betty Rose was born on February 3, 1934, and married Francis Kibbey in 1953.
- Maurice Baxter was the son of Maurice and Virgie and was born on February 25, 1938, and married Aleta Jane Mann in 1961.

Section XXV
Morton (Mort) was born on December 4, 1895, in Carter County, Kentucky, and still lives on McGlone Creek. He has been most helpful in compiling information for this book. He, too, is the son of Carlos. He married Mary Susan "Susie" Davis on February 12, 1918. Susie was born on August 3, 1898. They have 6 children:
- Rosemary was born on November 29, 1918, and is married to Earl Lewis.
