"Deevert, as it was once called, encompasses the area where my maternal grandmother, Sadie Belle (Forrest) Roberts was born (1887). It is the site of the old Forrest place of which I've submitted photos."

"The photo of the Huff children were taken at this house. I've always heard that area referred to as "Rockhouse."

"Sadie's older sister, Ethel Forrest, married Claiborne Huff. Claiborne was Deevert postmaster for a time. During Claiborne's tenure, at least, the post office existed in a small store that Claiborne ran that sat between the Forrest house and the intersection of Rockhouse Road with Iron Hill-Everman Creek Road."

"In the letter I submitted to you (From Robert "Bob" Forrest to Sadie Forrest Roberts) Bob mentions the cliffs along Tygart, Honaker Flat, and Clyffdale school. These are in the vicinity of Deevert."

This article is from Robert M. Rennick's "Post Offices of Northeastern Kentucky".
