The Olive Hill Library is operated by a volunteer staff and is funded through individual donations.
The library has several computers available for internet access and a growing inventory of books.
Our hours are:
Mon. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tues. 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Wed. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thur. 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Our collection of genealogy-related materials is growing,
and we encourage Carter County researches to donate copies of their charts,
biographies and other materials to our library.
The Carter County Genealogy Club
The Carter County Genealogy Club would like to obtain a PC dedicated to genealogical use for the library.
The PC will have a scanner to be used for scanning photographs, letters and similar materials,
and a CD-ROM writer which researchers will use to archive iames of their scanned documents.
There will be no charge for the use of the genealogy computer, scanner and CD-ROM writer.
If you would like to volunteer to assist local researchers in preserving their photographic treasures,
or if you would like to join the Carter County Genealogy Club, please contact me: John Grace.
The club has no dues and you certainly don't have to be a Carter County resident to join.
We already have members all over the country,
so why not join us in our efforts to preserve the genealogical history of Carter County.
