TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

   Know Ye, That Levi Porter a __________ of Captain R.G. Poring  _____Company, Eight Regiment of Virginia Cavalry, who was enlisted the twenty seventh day of July one thousand eight hundred and sixty one to serve one year in hereby HONORABLY discharged from the Army of the Confederate States.  
Levi S. Porter ___________________________________________________conscripted two years _______________________________________to the conscription Bill. 

   Said Levi S. Porter was born in Grayson Co. in the State of Virginia.  Is seventeen years of age. Five feet _____ inches high, dark complexion, blue eyes, Sandy hair, and by occupation when enlisted a farmer.
