appeared before me Mark Bradburn a Justice of the
Peace within and for the county & state fforesaid,
James Horseley aged fifty six years a resident of Greenup County in the state aforesaid
also being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical James
Horseley who was a private soldier in the company commanded by Francis H.
Gaines in the third Regiment of Infantry Volunteers commanded by Col. John
Poage in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th

On this (blank) day of July AD 1855 personally
appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace of and for the County and State
aforesaid, James Horsely aged 62 years, a resident of Greenup County, in the
State of Kentucky, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is
the identical James Horsely who was a private in the Company commanded by
Captain Francis H. Gaines in the Third Regiment of Kentucky Militia commanded by
Col. John Poage in the War declared by the United States against Great Britain
on the 18th day of June 1812.
He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining
the additional Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the Act approved
March 3, AD 1855. He also declares that he has never applied for, nor received,
under this or any other Act of Congress, any

DECLARATION OF SOLDIER FOR PENSION
State of
On the Twelfth (12) day of May, AD one thousand eight
hundred and seventy one, personally appeared before me, George A. Corum Clerk of the Greenup County Court, a Court of Record
within and for the county and State aforesaid James Horsley, aged 77 years, a
resident of Three Prong, County of Greenup State of Kentucky, who being duly
sworn according to law, declares that he is married; that his wife’s name was
Elizabeth madden, to whom he was married at the home of Nathen
Madden, on the twenty eight day of May AD, 1815; that he served the full period
of sixty days in the military service of the United States in the war of 1812;
that he is the identical James Horsley, who enlisted in Captain Frances H.
Gaines company, at Andrew Mefford’s, Tygretts Creek, on the (blank0 day of June 1813, and was
honorably discharged at cross roads Greenup County Ky, on the (blank) day of
December, 1813; that he enlisted under Thomas T. G. Waring,
who became the first Lieut. of said company, Frances H. Gaines, was our
Captain, Col. John Poage was our Col., our Regiment went to New Port and joined
Genl. Shelby and from there we went to Fort Senica (Seneca) on the Sandusky river and there we joined
General Wm. H. Harrison and sent in boats to Put-in-Bay and we fought the
Indians most of the time and at The Battle of the Thames. He received a dischare which was destroyed by the rebels in late war. He
hereby constitutes and appoints, with full power of substitutiona
dn revocation, Jeremiah Davidson of Greenup C. H. Ky.
his true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim and obtain the pension
certificate that may be issued; that his post office is at Greenup C. H. County
of Greenup State of Kentucky that his domicile or place of abode is on Three
Prong Greenup County Kentucky.
