Mrs. Malinda T. Kitchen

The subject of this sketch is now living with her son, W. R. Kitchen, at Willard.
She was born in Pulaski county, Ky., January 20, 1817, hence was 85 years old last January.
She was married to James Kitchen, October 11, 1837, while she changed her state she did not change her name. Her maiden name was Kitchen.
She joined the Christian church in 1847 under the labors of Eld. Aaron Sanders. She has been the mother of six boys and five girls. All the boys
are living. All the girls are dead but one, Mary Ann Kitchen, and she is the oldest child. She married Wm. Humphrey and now lives
at Memphis, Mo. W. R. Kitchen, the oldest son, and Jno. M., the sixth child, third boy both live at Willard. L. N. Kitchen, the second son,
lives at Kingman, Kan. James A. Kitchen, the fourth son and eighth child, lives at Steelville, Mo. Allen F. Kitchen, the ninth child
was born in 1854. He now lives at Scranton, Kan. Fleming F. Kitchen the youngest child, was born in 1860. He lives at Upper Tygart, this county.
As far as ye scribe can gather she has had forty-seven grandchildren and thirty-six great grand children.
She is in very good health for one of her age. Her mind is “clear as a bell” and she is a most interesting talker of bygone days.
She has been a faithful, hand maiden for the Master those many years and quietly and trustfully is waiting for the change to come that awaits us all.
