Kentucky GenWeb projectRebecca Jane Adams Young 1927-2007 GRAYSON - Rebecca Jane Adams Young, 80, of Webbville died Tuesday in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington KY following a brief illness. She was born October 15, 1927 in Willard a daughter of the late Vess and Carolyn McKinney Adams. She was a retired postal service worker, a member of the Willard Missionary Baptist Church and former member of the Eastern Star Chapter 10. She played both girls and boys high school basketball for the Webbville Blue Devils along with Maggie Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Young in 2003, one daughter Melissa Ann Young; one brother Sheldon Adams; three sisters Mary Triplett, Loretta Griffith and Junie Thomas Maness. Her survivors include one son and daughter in law, Kevin (Vicki) Young of Grayson; four daughters and three sons in law Paula (Paul) Stokes of Morehead KY, Kathy Young (Horizon Village) Morehead KY, Robin (Boyce) Lester and Lorrie (Rob) Handley both of Webbville KY; two sisters Charlotte Kelley of Lavonia MI and Gloria Savage of Hitchins KY; two brothers William (Bill) Adams and James Adams both of WV; eight grandchildren Kurt (Laurin) Young, Chris McDavid, Travis (Mandy) Handley, Kevin (Nikki) Stokes, Matt Stokes, Anna Stokes, Andrea (Nevada) Ison and Karrie (Mike) Campbell. Five great grandchildren Caleb Handley, Coby Handley, Haley Campbell, Conner Campbell and Kylei Stokes. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 1:00 p.m. at the Willard Missionary Baptist Church with Ronnie Graves and Joe Savage ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter Co. Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Malone Funeral Home and one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers family request that donation be made to Horizon Village, 4522 Skaggs Rd., Morehead KY 40351 or the Willard Masonic Lodge #626, Willard KY.
