Russell Quinn “R.Q.” Adams Born – 1916 GRAYSON – Russell Quinn “R.Q.” Adams, age 90, of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 28, at Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born August 2, 1916 in Carter County, a son of the late George W. and Martha McDavid Adams. He was retired as a superintendent from Union Boiler in Nitro WV, a former member of Local #667 of Charleston, WV, from which he received a 65-year recognition pin. Mr. Adams was a member of the Bagby Memorial Methodist Church. He was an avid baseball fan, gardener, golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death in 1977 by his wife Rose Marie Svetic Adams; brothers, Charlie, Frank, Milt, Watt and Homer Adams; sisters, Jenny Johnson, Betty Walker, Jesse Fraley, and Mary Achton. His survivors include, two daughters, Kathleen Adams of Louisville, and Carolyn “Carrie” Adams of Grayson. He is also survived by special friends, Pat and Bob Johnson, Fred Buck, Rick Adams, Nancy Weber, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. The family appreciates the care and support given by Ann Sammons Wood and the staffs of both Carter County Nursing/Rehab and Ashland Community Hospice Care Center. Funeral services were conducted Monday 1 p.m. at the Bagby Memorial Methodist Church by the minster Brad Smart. Burial followed in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
