Kentucky GenWeb projectMargie Marie McDowell 1911-2003 Margie Marie McDowell, 92, of 316 Jefferson St., Louisa, Ky., died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in Ashland, Ky. She was born July 6, 1911, in Rush, Ky., a daughter of the late William and Ella Carter Albright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John McDowell in 1968. She was a housewife and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Amanda (Cecil) Slone of Louisa and Ida McDowell Givens of Lexington, Ky.; five sons, Ralph McDowell, John McDowell, Roy McDowell, all of Ashland, Donald McDowell of Louisa and Philip McDowell of Richmond, Va.; 34 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Garretts Chapel in East Fork, Ky., by the Rev. Kenneth Wright and the Rev. Cline McAlister. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
