Thursday, March 8, 2007 Mearl Duvall Arrowood Mearl Duvall Arrowood, age 98 of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the residence of her son Glen. She was born November 14, 1908 at Mount Savage Kentucky (Carter County) to the late Howard and Hattie (Stuart) Duvall of Hitchins, Kentucky. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years Ben Arrowood; sons, James E. and Flem W. Arrowood; daughter Lois Barker; daughter-in-laws, Freda and Mary Lou Arrowood and three granddaughters. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Ray and Ernest Duvall; sisters, Ethel Thomas and Maude Spurlock. She is survived by sons, Jack, Ervin (Shirley), John (Diana), Glen (Jewell) and David (Linda) all of Oak Hill, Ohio, Ben (Jane) Columbus, Ohio and Joe of Lynchburg, Virginia; three daughters, Helen (Wendell) Jones of Oak Hill, Betty (Gary) Canter of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Samantha (Bill) Hatcher of Bidwell, Ohio; two daughter-in-laws, Sheila and Joan Arrowood; one son-in-law Alben Barker. Also 40 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, seven great-great- grandchildren, special friend Charlotte Carter and a most appreciated and wonderful nursing assistant Anita Jenkins from Ohio Valley Home Health. Mearl was a long time member of Old Friendship United Baptist Church, Williamsport, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at the Kuhner-lewis Funeral Home with Elders Flem Arrowood, Ted Asbury and Glen Arrowood officiating and burial to follow in the Arrowood Family Cemetery.
