Catherene A. Romans, age 66 of Marengo died early Saturday morning, January 6, 2001 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1934 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Preston M. and Nancy E. (Knipp) Ash. Originally from the Mansfield area, the homemaker moved to Marengo 26 years ago from Columbus. Member of North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church.
Survived by her husband of 36 years: Leslie J. Romans, Sons: Herbert & George Springston of Marengo, Burton Springston of Cardington, Kenneth Romans of Lancaster, Jack Romans of Columbus, Daughters: Dovie Romans of Marengo, Nancy Young of Canal Winchester, Frances Gramlich of Columbus, many grandchildren, Brothers: Earl & Elmer Ash of Mansfield, Sisters: Vivian Lowe and Bertha Peyton of Mansfield.
Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church, 6186 SR 314, Mt. Gilead, where funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Marengo Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo.
