1922-2004
Jessie F. Carroll Bellew, 81, of Grayson, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Fultz, Carter County, a daughter of the late James F. and Inez Littleton Carroll.
Jessie was a homemaker, mother and farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Wallace and her husband, Frank, of Grayson and Elaine Bellew of Huntington, W.Va.; two brothers, Vaughn Carroll and Ersel Carroll, both of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, June Fultz and Martha Wilson, both of Olive Hill, and Ruth King of Grayson; and several grandchildren, Scott Wallace and Joseph Hammer, both of Grayson, Leigh Ann Erickson of Hopkinsville, Ky., Jeremy Bellew, Joshua Hammer and Jannia Napier, all of Huntington, Stephanie Wallace, Billy and Sara Hammer, Allison and Abby Bellew, Joshua, Kaitlin and Brett Hammer.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Homer Bellew; one daughter, Arlene Bellew; a grandson, Jarrod Bellew; and four brothers, Allen, Ellwood, Sidney and B.J. Carroll.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 22, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Marcus Suttles and Lee Gussler officiating. Burial will be in the Bellew Family Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Scott Wallace, Jeremy Bellew, Joshua Hammer, Joseph Hammer, Jim Smith and Gary Littleton. Honorary pallbearers are James Jones, Rick Jones, Steve Phillips, Rick Erickson and Joe Napier.
