Ashland Daily Independent Edith Miller (1924-2007) Edith Marie Borders Miller, 82, of Cannonsburg, Ky., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. She was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Ulysses, Ky., the daughter of the late Monroe and Lydia Lemaster Borders. She was a former co-owner, along with her husband, Bascom, of Farmers Market in Catlettsburg, Ky., Miller’s Wholesale Fruits and Vegetables in Ashland and convenience stores in Ashland and Grayson, Ky. Edith was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Warm and gracious to all, she never met a stranger. She lived her retirement years in Cannonsburg and was a member of Pollard Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bascom Miller of Cannonsburg; a son, Danny L. Miller and his wife, Seb, of Ashland; grandchildren Kimberly and Jason Miller of Lexington; a daughter, Judy C. Miller of Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, Phillip W. Miller and his wife, Danita, of Catlettsburg; and a grandson, Matthew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first child, Bascom Miller Jr.; brothers Elmer, Herbert and Collie Borders; and a sister, Grethel Chandler. Friends may call on the Miller family from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 5, 2007, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg. Words of comfort and reassurance will be offered by Pastor Stan Williams. Committal services will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel.
