Earl Bowling - 

1929-2004 - 

Earl Edsel Bowling, 74, of Ashland, KY., passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at his home following a brief illness.     

He was the widower of Avangelene Click Bowling, who passed away in October, 1997.     

Mr. Bowling was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Ashland, a son of the late William M. and Inez Carroll Bowling.     

He was a retired machinist with National Mines, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, attended the Westwood Church of God, and was a member 
of Rush Lodge 715 F&AM and Horse Traders No. 658.     

Surviving are three sons, Steven Bowling of Ashland; Michael (Virginia) Bowling of Ashland; and Randall Keith (Carla) Bowling of Ashland; 
one daughter, Linda Sue (Matthew) Dean of Ashland; two brothers, William M. (Iva) Bowling Jr. of Wyandotte, Mich., and Joe (Ada) Bowling of Ashland;
two sisters, Mary Moore of Ashland and Helen Berry of Rush, Ky.; and six grandchildren, Tracy (Brett) Ferris, Matthew Dean Jr., 
Steven Allen Bowling, Michael Lee Bowling, Stephanie Michelle Bowling and Christina Amber Bowling.      

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Caniff Funeral Home Chapel by Chris Keeton and Bob Queen, pastors. 
Military rites will be conducted by the Kenvoa American Legion Post No. 76.     

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.     

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service Wednesday at the funeral home.     

Masonic services will be conducted by the officers and  brothers of Rush Lodge No. 715 F&AM at Rose Hill Mausoleum Chapel.

He was the grandson of Daniel Boone and Amanda Simmons Carroll.
