Betty Barnett
1940-2004
With her family by her side, Betty Lou Burton Barnett, of Twin Fork Road, Catlettsburg, Ky., quietly slipped away to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at her residence. She was 63 years of age.
Born March 10, 1940, in Olive Hill, Ky., Mrs. Barnett was a daughter of the late Eugene and Violet Masters Burton.
She was a registered nurse and was a member of South Shore Nazarene Church.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, the Rev. James E. "Sonny" Barnett. Together Betty and "Sonny" raised two sons, the Rev. James David Barnett and his wife, Beth, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Kevin Scott Barnett and his wife, Linda, of Little Rock, Ark. She is also survived by a brother, William Burton of Laurens, S.C. and a sister, Bonnie Burton of Waynesboro, Va. Mrs. Barnett was also blessed with five precious grandchiildren, Tiffany, Kimberli, Kennedy, Maximus and Laurel Barnett.
A funeral ceremony in honor of Mrs. Barnett will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg with her son, the Rev. Dave Barnett, officiating the services. Entombment will follow in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
