O. Ray Callihan Sr., 1938-2007 Callihans NILES — O. Ray Callihan Sr., 68, 516 Sherman St., died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at his residence. Ray was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Olive Hill, Ky., the son of John and Ora Bramer Callihan. He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and had retired from the General Motors Corp. A former owner and operator of his own catering business, he had also been employed by the former Niles restaurants, The Living Room and Cherries Top of the Mall. A U.S. Army veteran, he will be remembered for his passion of cooking, and his love and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sharon G. Callihan and Brenda K. Howard; a son, Tony Ray Callihan; two grandchildren, Sabrina Howard and Jason Horsley; three brothers, Dickey, Delbert and Thomas; and four sisters, Helen Dawkins, Nannie Lawson, Marceline Callihan and Annabelle Foxwell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Bonnie G. Horsley, whom he married Dec. 22, 1956; two sons, O. Ray Callihan Jr. and his wife, Vickie, of Niles, and Keith J. Callihan of Cortland; three daughters, Vicki L. Parisi, Shelly Brady and her husband, Jeff, all of Niles, and Betty Moore of Flatwoods, Ky; three brothers, Jimmy, Archie and Charles, all of Olive Hill; a sister, Pino Knipp of Dayton; his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Papaw, Katrina Chambers, Amanda Sherrill, Eric Crislip II, Ashley Crislip, Bernadette Callihan, and Kendra, Trevor and Izzra Moore; and his great-grandchildren, Madison and Isabella Callihan, Shawn Chambers, and Seth and Mckayla Jornigan. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, 614 Warren Ave., with the Rev. Pete Cozart officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements and care has been entrusted to the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home.
