Ethel Marie Webb
1927-2004
Ethel Marie Webb, 76, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Ironton, Ohio, and widow of Lawrence Webb, died Monday, Jan. 12, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born March 2, 1927, in Carter County, Ky., and was a member of Family Lighthouse Church.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Sara Margaret Houck Carpenter McSorley; her father, Shelby Lee Carpenter; her stepfather, John McSorley; three sons, John Owen Kirk, Richard Allen Kirk, and Steven Paul Kirk; two brothers, Billy and James Carpenter; two sisters, Pauline "Pud" Kingsley and Laura Ellen "Sis" Davis; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna and her husband, Ronald McFann of Ironton and Mary Boyd and Clifford Castle of Ashland; five sons, Bill Kirk and his wife, Pam, Jimmy Kirk and his wife, Rita, Ricky Kirk and his wife, Donna, and Charlie Webb, all of Ashland, and Jeff Webb serving in Iraq, stationed in Germany; 26 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Steve Mays.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
