Kentucky GenWeb projectOBIT - Alice Back, 1909-2004 - Alice Carroll Back, 94, of Grayson, Ky., was born in Carter County, Ky., on May 29, 1909, a daughter of the late Luke and Sabra Walker Carroll. She passed away in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky., on March 31, 2004, after an extended illness. She was a housewife and mother and was a member of the Little Mary Baptist Church. Mrs. Back was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Back; two daughters, Evelyn Fudge and Nancy Gibby; one son, Kenneth Back; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are a son, Luke Back and his wife, Patsy; and one daughter, Sabra McGuire and her husband, Charles, all of Grayson. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with the Rev. Russell Burnett and the Rev. Bill Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the funeral home. One may visit the guestbook at sparksfh.com.
