OBIT - Charles Carroll passed away at his home here Thursday following a prolonged illness. Mr. Carroll, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carroll, was born in Kentucky Feb. 21, 1885. About ten years ago, he was united in marriage to Miss Hanah Becket of Lakefield. Besides his wife he is survived by his mother Mrs. John Carroll, who is at present quite ill in the Newberry hospital; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Beemis of Highland Park, Ill., Mrs. Mollie DeBord of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. Marie Ensler of Coldwater, Mich.; three brothers, Robert of Arizona, George of Washington and Richard of Lakefield township. Funeral services were read at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 by Rev. Alvin Doten of Newberry. The pallbearers were Robert Braley, Olivet Braley, Harvey Mainville, Earle Koontz, Edmund Brown and Uuldrick Gauine. Interment was made in the McMillan cemetery. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
Charles Carroll died at his home in Lakefield township early Friday morning. Mr. Carroll is the son of Mrs. John Carroll, who is in the local hospital suffering from a fractured skull, sustained when she fell down a stairway. She had been spending the winter with relatives in Kentucky and came north to care for her son who has been ill of a liver trouble for some months. (Newberry News ((Newberry,.
