Ersel L. Carroll, 79, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at his residence.
Ersel was born on May 1, 1935, in Fultz, KY, to James "Frank" and Inez F. (Littleton) Carroll. 
He worked for Stone Container for over 27 years. Ersel enjoyed country music, especially George Jones. 
He also enjoyed playing his guitar. He is survived by five children, Debra Carroll of Columbus, 
Ersel Carroll of Bellville, Barry Carroll and Kimberly Carroll both of Mansfield, and 
Crystel (David) Smith of Bellville; five step-children, Allen Hollar of Canton, Wilma (Roger) Steward 
and Susan Hollar both of Bellville, Sherry Swank of Ontario, and Jennifer (David) Neighbors of Bellville; 
eight grandchildren, Mitch Carroll, Angel Goldsmith, Drake Goldsmith, Keith (Lisa) Williams, 
Nathan (Trisha) Williams, Michelle Blum, Travis Thompson, and Brittany (James) Haynes; one brother, 
James "Vaughn" (Betty) Carroll of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ersel was preceded in death 
by his parents; his wife, Edna Carroll; and eight siblings, Allen Carroll, Jesse Blue, Elwood Carroll, 
Sydney Carroll, Martha Wilson, William Carroll, Juanita King, and June Fultz.Calling hours will be 
from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 
Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the funeral home, with Pastor Earl Tackett officiating. 
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
