OBIT - Homer Carroll - Homer Carroll, 76, of Rt. 1, Grayson, died Thursday at his residence. Mr. Carroll was born May 7, 1900, in Carter County, a son of the late William and Idella Ghost Carroll. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ollie Elam Carroll; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Moore of Rt. 1, Grayson, Mrs. Jo Ann Elliott of Olive Hill and Mrs. Wanda Menix of Rt., 3, Grayson; a son, Billy M. Carroll of Hartsville, Tenn.; a brother, Reed Carroll of Rt. 1, Grayson; three sisters, Mrs. June Campbell of Hitchins, Mrs. Hazel Rice of Oak Grove, O., and Mrs. Hester Higinbottom of St. Albans, W. Va.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stinson Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Lucin Watts and the Rev. Malcom Bush. Burial will be in the Easterling Cemetery at Stinson. The body is at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
