OBIT - 

Kenneth Edward Carroll Sr., 71, of Route 3, (Crane Creek) Grayson, died 
Tuesday afternoon at his home following a long illness.    

Mr. Carroll was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Carter County, a son of the late Arch and Bess Glass Carroll.     

He retired from the plant protection department of Armco Inc. and 
was a retired farmer. He was a member and deacon of the Crane Creek Missionary 
Baptist Church, where he also served as treasurer for many years.     
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lottie Smith Carroll; two sons, James Archie 
Carroll of Bedford, Va., and Kenneth Carroll Jr. of Raceland; two daughters, 
Mrs. Larry (Donna Sue) Riffe of Grayson and Mrs. Tom (Sharon) Buyalos of 
Dallas, Texas; a brother, Richard Carroll of Ashland; three sisters, Mrs. 
Arnold (Dorothy) Bush of Grayson, Mrs. James (Pat) Jones of Ironton, Ohio, and 
Mrs. Herb (Mary) Newland of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-
grandchildren.     

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crane 
Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Harry Sanders and James Carroll. Burial 
will be in Smith Claxton Cemetery at Crane Creek.     

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson 
and an hour before the service at the church.     

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crane Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
