Kentucky GenWeb projectWayne Carroll, Ashland Native, Dies Suddenly - Wayne Carroll, 54, of 425 S. Ohio St., Columbus, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. He ws stricken while operating his automobile and died shortly after in a Columbus hospital. A native of Ashland, Mr. Carroll was born April 30, 1913, a son of the late Landon and Martha Coleman Carroll. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Marine Corps, and moved to Columbus from Ashland 18 years ago. He was a painting contractor. Surviving are two sons, Nicholas Wayne and Charles Landon Carroll, both at home; four daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Burcik of Columbus, and Misses Martha Sola, Mary Ann, and Linda Sue Carroll at home; a brother, Clarence Carroll of Ashland, and two sisters, Mrs. Maude King and Mrs. Anna Brown, both of Ashland. The body is at the John Steen Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. (Ashland (KY) Daily Independent, Wednesday Evening, October 18, 1967, page 14)
