OBIT - Mrs. Salyers, Sunday School Teacher Dies - Mrs. Zilpha Salyers, 67, of 501 44th St. was dead on arrival at King's Daughters' Hospital at 7 p.m. Wednesday after suffering a heart attack at her home. She was born Aug. 20, 1896, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Sophia Coleman Carroll. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 27 years, and the Zilphia Sunday School Class was named in her honor. Surviving are her husband, Albert Salyers; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Maynard of Ashland; two brothers, Leslie Carroll of Ashland and Robert Carrol of South Point, and two grand-children. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home by the Rev. Marion Duncan and the Rev. T. P. Simmons. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ernest Scott, William Craycraft, Sr., Doc Lemaster, C. R. Kirtley, Herbert Distel, and Herman Wheeler.
