THE CARTER COUNTY HERALD, December 7, 1933 IN MEMORIAM J. M. CLARK J. M. Clark, son of John and Elizabeth Clark, was born near Smoky Valley Carter county Kentucky November 15, 1859; departed this life November 29, 1933, aged 74 years and 4 days. He was joined in matrimony to Mary Logan, daughter of John And Elizabeth Logan in February, 1995 ("that's what it said, I'm not sure if meant 1895 or 1885"). To this union was born two children, one dying at birth. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mary Clark, a daughter Mrs. Oscar Lemaster, two granddaughters, Shirley H. and Avalon, O. Lemasters; three brother, J. J. and James Clark, Charters, Ky., and Frank Clark, Kinney, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. William Conliff, New Boston, Ohio and Lucinda Logan of Illinois. A number of nephews and nieces. Mr. Clark had been afflicted for a number of years with paralysis and other diseases. In the last year he had been very feeble, leaving his bed but very little. He was seriously ill about two weeks. Twenty-four hours before the final call, he gave the ones around him his request as to his burial place, etc., and said a number of time "I am going home to rest." With these words and the quiet way he passed away, we feel he found peace. The remains were laid to rest in Logan Cemetery November 30, Rev. Wm. Webb conducting the burial service. His passing away leaves a great vacancy in our homes. We wish to express our thanks to the friends, each and every one, that so kindly assisted in caring for him in his last days, death and burial. Wife and daughter Mrs. Mary Clark and Mrs. Oscar Lemaster. ["This is John Milton Clark"; bel]
