Kentucky GenWeb projectJewell Nolen (1918-2007) Jewell Nolen, 89, formerly of Grahn, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 in Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 3, 1918, the daughter of the late Haskell and Elsie Waugh Clay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Nolen; three sisters, Olive Knipp, Enone Jones and twin, Ruby Barker and a granddaughter, Cheri Nolen Duvall. She is survived by one son, Dallas (Stella) Nolen of Grahn; two daughters, Joyce (Richard) Cox of Union, Ohio, and Gloria (Larry) Taylor of Olive Hill; five grandchildren, J.R. Nolen, Kevin and Kimberly Cox, Melissa Hedge and Megan Taylor; and four great-grandchildren, Becca and Josie Nolen and Erin and Corey Hedge. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Jarvis Cemetery in Corey. Pallbearers will be Doug Colley, Wes Hedge, J.R. Nolen, Barry Phillips, Stanley Phillips and Mike Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Knipp, Junior Knipp and Sam Walker. Friends may call after 6 p.m. tonight or anytime before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101
