Kentucky GenWeb projectJewell Conley Wombles 1917-2004 Jewell Conley Wombles, 87, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Soldier, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Carter County, a daughter of the late R.D. and Dal Clark Conley. Her husband, Worden H. Wombles, preceded her in death in 1969. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Blackwell and Sharon Bennett, both of Lexington; a son, Robert Wombles of Wexford, Pa.; a sister, Amy Florence of Georgetown, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Heather Bennett and Andrew Wombles. Mrs. Wombles was a homemaker and was a member of Soldier Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel in Morehead with the Rev. Kenny Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery in Soldier. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
