Ashland Daily Independent 6/10/2004 Proctor Conley 1918-2004 Proctor Conley, 86, of Flatwoods, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2004, in Woodland Oaks Nursing Care Facility in Ashland, Ky. Mr. Conley was born March 15, 1918, in Elliott County, Ky., a son of the late David and Bessie Gilliam Conley. He was preceded in death by two wives, Opal Waugh Conley and Martha Adkins Conley; a son, David Conley; two brothers, Willie Conley and Joe Conley; and five sisters, Beulah Thompson, Nellie Kelley, Thelma Mason, Betty Rice and Helen Barker. Survivors include his wife, Laura Price Conley; a son, Garland Conley of Ashland; three stepsons, Ed Hamilton of Worthington, Ky., Philip Sparks of Grayson, Ky., and Tim Sparks of Russell, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Betty Callihan of Flatwoods, Carol Mayo of Grayson and Teresa Littleton of Grahn, Ky.; a brother, David Conley of Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Dorothy Dickison of Oklahoma, Laura McClear of California and Fanny Hutchinson of Ashland; 29 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, June 10, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Brother Dave McGranahan and Brother Greg Wells. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight, June 9, 2004, from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Military services will be performed by American Legion Post 276 in South Shore.
