Letha Opal Crank Ash Pettry MANSFIELD -- Letha Opal Crank Ash Pettry, 73, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, after a long illness. Now home with her Lord, Letha was born May 21, 1931, in Pleasant Valley, Kentucky, to Joseph and Mary J. Litteral Crank. She lived in Mansfield for the past 55 years and was married to Posey Pettry in 1996. She was a flea market buff, an excellent cook, and spent her spare time reading books. Letha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are her husband, Posey Pettry; three sons, Ronnie (Grethel) Ash of Inez, Ky., Gordon Ash of Lovely, Ky., and Donald (Barb) Ash of Morris Town, Tenn.; three stepsons, Paul E. (Barb) Pettry, John M. Pettry and Thomas H. (Debra) Pettry; four stepdaughters, Mary W. (Gene) Lyons, Martha (Julius) Kennedy, Marcella P. Lyons and Margaret A. Pettry; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazeline (Edgar) Clay of Graceland, Ky.; and a special friend and neighbor girl, Telisha Pointer. Letha was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Ash; son, Daniel Ash; daughter, Bonnie Sue Ash; grandson, Thomas H. Pettry Jr.; granddaughter, Bobbie Joe Branham; parents, Joseph and Mary J. Crank; two brothers, James E. Crank and Fred Crank; four sisters, Gertrude Stone, Audrey N. Pettry, Edna Helland and Pansy Pettry. Friends may be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at the Downtown Chapel of Werner Funeral Services, 175 W. Third St., Mansfield. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Road, Mansfield with Pastor Clifford E. Tackett officiating.
