Dr. Donald R. Damron

GRAYSON - Dr. Donald R. “Dick” Damron, minister of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Grayson, KY and professor of History at 
Kentucky Christian University, passed away Sunday at his home following a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Lynn.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Linda Marshall of Salyersville, KY; a daughter, Amy Laura Nesmith and husband Dale of Naples, Florida; 
two sons, Donald Marshall Damron and wife Rhonda and Dane Matthew Damron and wife Delisha all of Grayson; eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. 
He is also survived by a sister, Mary Anna Marshall and husband Terry of Grayson and a brother-in-law, Mic Marshall of Greenup.

Dick was born on October 25, 1943 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of Anna Damron Waggoner of Grayson and the late Donald Franklin Damron. 
He served as the senior minister of the Oak Grove Church of Christ for 27 years and Professor of History at Kentucky Christian University for 35 years. 
As the former men’s basketball coach at K.C.U. Dick was recently inducted into the National Christian College Athletic Association Hall of Fame.

Visitation will be held in the Donald R. “Dick” Damron Hall of Champions in Lusby Center on the campus of K.C.U. on Friday from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. 
and a Celebration Service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Church of Christ Family Life Center. 
Funeral arrangements are being held by Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Oak Grove Church of Christ building fund or the 
Kentucky Christian University Athletic Fieldhouse fund.
