Kentucky GenWeb projectCharles “Wayne” Davis MANSFIELD,RICHLAND COUNTY, OHIO - Charles "Wayne" Davis, 72,died at his home Friday afternoon, July 24, 1998, after a long illness. Mr. Davis was born April 3, 1926 in Carter Co., KY, and has lived in the Mansfield area since 1948. He had retired from Empire Reeves, and was a member of Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Erma Mae "Barker" Davis; two sons, Gary and James Davis both of Mansfield; three daughters, Bonnie Mitchell, Sondra Kash, and Carolyn Sims all of Mansfield; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grand-children; his mother, Stella (Cone) Davis of Mansfield; two brothers, Chalmer and Talmadge Davis both of Mansfield; two sisters, Betty Jean Hellinger of Mansfield, and Rose Ann Biddle of Crestline, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lionel Davis; two brothers, Harold and Delbert Davis; and one sister, Wilma Jane Davis. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rick Pelfrey.. Burial was in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
