Kentucky GenWeb projectMadge Easterling Shaffer 1917-2004 Madge Easterling Shaffer, 86, of Grayson, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in Carter Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born November, 26, 1917, in Rush, Ky., a daughter of the late George Smithfield and Bertha Williams Easterling. She was a homemaker, a cook and a member of the First Baptist Church of Grayson. Preceding her in death was her husband, Mose Shaffer, who died in 1977; a son, Mose Frank Shaffer; a son-in-law, John Carter; a daughter-in-law, Janet Shaffer; a grandson, Terry Shaffer; and a brother, Eugene Easterling. Her survivors include one son, Robert Shaffer of Grayson; one daughter, Grace Helen Carter of Lambertville, Mich.; one brother, George Easterling of Oldtown, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Malone Funeral Home with John Newland officiating. Burial will be in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
