Kentucky GenWeb projectDrew Evans - 1938-2006 Drew Evans, 68, of Raceland, Ky., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Mr. Evans was born June 9, 1938, in Soldier, Ky., a son of the late Morley and Tina Withrow Evans. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton Evans, Daniel Jefferson “D.J.” Evans and Ollie Evans. He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of Greenup Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley Booth Evans; one daughter, Catherina French of Flatwoods, Ky.; three sons, Gregory Evans, James Evans and Dwaine Evans, all of Flatwoods; one sister, Rita Click of Cincinnati; five brothers, Lloyd Evans of Mansfield, Ohio, Elwood Evans of New Castle, Ind., Billy Evans of Clearwater, Fla., Riley “Pete” Evans of Ashland and Lenford Evans of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at the Greenup Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
